Finebaum putting out Oklahoma coming after Heupel

And I’m sure he would love for that to happen too. Finescum the crap stirrer. He hates that Tennessee finally has their crap together and isn’t a dumpster fire anymore and he is good buddies with Saban and Sankey along with being Bummers number one fanboy so we shouldn’t expect anything less from him in trying to bring us down.

To be fair, I just listened to his comments:

He mentioned the bad blood and called it a miss for Oklahoma. He then said Oklahoma is stuck with Venables for a while. That isn't him saying he is gong to Oklahoma. Still a bad take considering how off-topic it was from the original question.

It's just Finebaum's "opinion", trying to get more viewers or clicks. If Oklahoma does come after Heupel, it won't be anytime soon. You need to give a coach at least 3 years or no one else will want the job in the future. I could be wrong but I doubt that Heupel would craw back there. Does anyone watch this guy's show anymore?

Lol what? He’s been rather homerish towards UT this year.

Fine Paulbaum is a click-bait master, he knows how to rev up the Vol fan base and get those clicks, DO NOT FALL FOR IT, DO NOT GIVE THAT TRAITOR THE CLICKS.

Edit: Do you think Danny White is going to let Heupel get out of TN without offering a HUGE contract offer? If Heupel really does LOVE the TN fan base as much as he says why would he ever leave? If you think the Kiffen debacle was bad if Heupel leaves for OK, there will not be a mattress safe in 2 states around TN.

Why wouldn't OK come after Heupel? Why wouldn't Auburn? Why wouldn't anybody with an ounce of intelligence?

We have one of the premier play callers and scheme guys as head coach. He is also showing he can develop players and turn around a program on life support. His recruiting is looking solid as well. I am not concerned by those "coming after" him. I am confident he will be retained as UT's head coach.

I’ll try that as well….

OU is coming after Saban.

OU is coming after Smart.

OU is coming after no one this year. They are not going to fire a coach after one year. Unless they want to be viewed like UT was during the Kiffin to Pruitt years.

And we will be making Huepel the 3-4th highest paid SEC coach at the end of the season as long as we make it to a NY6 bowl.

I have no idea whether Heupel would return to Oklahoma (being fired as an OC is likely a wash given his time there as a player), nor do I know whether Oklahoma would seriously look to move on from Venables after one season with a heavily-depleted roster (my guess is that they would not).

What I do know is that, for the first time since Majors and pre-2005 Fulmer, Tennessee is in a position where it's an attractive job. Heupel showed that the program isn't beyond resuscitation and has them knocking on the door of the Top 5 for the first time in almost 20 years, NIL is humming along and fanbase support is blistering as a result of what Danny White has architected. If Heupel were to leave, and that's a big if, this isn't going to be another two decades in the wilderness.
