I'm not going to bash HW or call for her head after one game, that's pretty ridiculous. That being said, she was given the HC position because that's what Pat wanted and everyone knows that. I think DH should have went after Nikki Caldwell in my opinion, but instead he bowed to Pat. Time will tell if that was a wise decision.

Well said

Niki was my preference as well but Holly will do just fine. She convinced me of that in the SEC tourney last year. It's not going to be a cake walk from now on. Womens BB is a lot more competitive now. We have some good young talent. They will learn and get better. The problem now is our vets are too slow and it showed last night. Holly had to pull them and go with the younger players to try and keep up. Let's see how they do Sunday at GT.

UTC coach knew it was one of those nights. Here is a post game quote from him."As a coach, I don't know if we are going to hit shots every night like we did tonight." He saw the same off balance and circus shots go in that I did. It was just one of those nights.

We have to give her a few more games to get this team corrected. UT Chattanooga at their place is a tough way to open the season. I don't think we'll be a top twenty team and we have the possibility of having a losing season and not making the NCAA Tourney. I see double digit losses this season and even if we make the tourney we'll be a nine or ten seed.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Lady Vols and will always be a fan. However, If Pat has lost that game, the comments would still be the same. We don't lose to UTC!

At the same time, UTC is a team that regularly plays in the NCAA Tournament, and has gotten past the first round on more than one occasion under Wes Moore. They are probably one of the most dangerous Mid-major women's basketball team in the country on a yearly basis.

It's seldom (never) a good thing to be the coach that follows "The Coach". Hope she gets it turned around.

Personally I wanted UT to go after Caldwell or Mitchell as I thought we got a pretty good preview of how Holly could coach last year. That being said I hope this is more of a case of young players and a new type of game for them and not a hint of what's to come.

Good to see so many posts about the Lady Vols in spite of the topic. I truly hope they can remain among the top teams post-Summit. We'll see.

What a bunch of morons on here. Were you at the game and saw the coaching errors? No, I didn't think so. Our veteran players except for Simmons forgot to show up. UTC has a pretty good little ball team and it seemed like everything they threw up went in and I mean threw up. There were shots that I would have never thought would go in. The big girl #44 threw one from near half court with one hand that went in but came back out. Take a deep breath folks. Only a fool will call for a coaching change after one game but then, there are definitely a lot of fools on this board.

Well put. UTC had luck, luck and more luck on its side. Lights out "shooting." That happens once in a while.

We saw last year she is a horrible coach and never should have been hired. This program will go NOWHERE under her leadership!

D@#$. Unbelievable. Only the first game and let's fire her. Fire Dooley, fire Warlick. Hell, let's just fire everybody. The volleyball coach, the tennis coach, softball, mens basketball. So tired of seeing this BS every time I come to this site.

Do we realize that not one starter from last year returned. Be patient.
Lets not delude ourselves with erroneous information that appeared in the press. The all Senior lineup only occurred in the NCAA tourney, and you know how well that worked out.
