Part of the depth issue on the DL is a result of Tony McDaniel leaving early, Mapu coming back after a 2 yr layoff out of shape, Walter Fisher the top incoming prospect getting injured, and Demonte Bolden not panning out to be the top prospect everyone felt he would be when he was recruited 2 yrs ago.

Next year when Mapu as had a full year to train, Fisher is completely healed, and Bolden has had a year to work with one of the best DL coaches in Div 1 in Brooks, things will look a lot brighter.

QFT and I hope you're right.

Man, I think Chavis is good most of the time, but when it comes to trying to stop teams that run well, he is terrible at scheming to stop those guys. We made Arky look like 1995 Nebraska tonight.

chavis has always had the bend but don't break routine and more and more over the past few years we are breaking more than we are bending. our secondary plays too much for the INT and pi$$ poor tackling has been an issue for the Vols D for many many years. chavis has got to step up

and yet, there are still Chavis apologists on this board who insist that he is untouchable. "The greatest D-coordinator in college football" he's called.

If only he had Harrell, Johnson and the ghosts of Lyle Alzado and John Matuzak, then he'd show us some real D.

i give chavis the benefit of the doubt......more years than not its our D that carries us......i think that its ok that we have one year taht we depend on our offense......especially considering we lost our 2 best defensive players at the start of the year.....we are thin......chavis's d is not performing up to standard but i think firing him is premature.....what has killed us this year is more our lack of depth than schemes that chavis draws up.....lets not forget.....we did get 4 turnovers out of jamarcus russell........if our O was up to the standard they have upheld this year we would have won the last 2 games....the injury to ainge and coker have killed us

There's no way UT holds Arkansas to less then 14 pts and thats what it would have taken to beat Arkansas.

Again, the defense was phenomenal last year.

i disagree with this theory. arkansas' quick points made UT play a game it wasn't prepared to play.. a Good D makes it a different ballgame. Bottom line is the D failed in the 4th last week and must've thought we were playing a home game tonight and stayed in k-town. We may be banged up and thin, but we had nothing tonight

We have a new O/C and corrected that area of our team..Our offense has struggled due to Ainge injury and Coker injury. Our defense has had some injuries, but we can't stop the pass, the run.Trooper Taylor would probably make a good defensive coach. IMO,he does everything else so well when it comes to coaching.

I most definitely agree with that......It's already getting old and this is the first time I've been on here and read since yesterday morning

The only thing that is getting really old is being out coached in every big game we have.
The only thing on here that gets old is people like you and your other Fulmer bashers that want him gone......I really hate to say it but its retarded to get rid of him! I guess finishing 9-3 and having a bowl season isn't good enough for you, especially after last year

I have supported CPF win or lose but last night really showed me that he had no plan at all. Are we to believe that Arky has a better D than LSU? i think not. yeah numbers dont lie lets look at what the man has done since 2000. Whats so wrong about wanting a change? the game has obviously passed him by.
