Last year's sacrificial lamb was Randy Sanders, now we want to look at Chavis?

From an outsider's perspective, it looks like they need to remove the head man, as it looks like Fulmer has lost control of the program.

We are not 9 and 3 and imo we proably wont be
I will lay 100 dollars on we will end up 9-3....Yeah Vandy will be a tough game and since we play them at home and KY isn't a bad team this year but we'll have Ainge back by then and should be able to beat them

I would really love to see how many times this quote has been used in here since the season has started:

"Compared to what we did last year"

Rationalizing, Rationalizing, Rationalizing, Rationalizing, Rationalizing, Rationalizing, Rationalizing, Rationalizing

i think it is time for him to go.

Anyone who even thinks this should be banned. You have got to be kidding me. Why can't you just understand we are not going to be perfect every game or even every season? It hasn't been that long ago, that we were all saying what a great job he has done with the defense.

Let's just get over it and enjoy that we are heads and tails above last year and be thankful.

So for who ever starts any dumb .com about any of our coaches...GO FIND YOU ANOTHER TEAM!!

I have supported CPF win or lose but last night really showed me that he had no plan at all. Are we to believe that Arky has a better D than LSU? i think not. yeah numbers dont lie lets look at what the man has done since 2000. Whats so wrong about wanting a change? the game has obviously passed him by.

exactly. It would be one thing if arky wore our D out and then took us to the woodshed. Chavis's boys looked like they had never even heard a word about McFadden. Not to mention how sloppy our O played. Crompton was scared to death the entire first half

you have no right to tell me to find another team. i'm lookign at facts. chavis's bend but don't break routine has gotten us burned in more big games than I care to remember. I'll wear my orange w/ pride today, but I have every right to make and express my opinions of when a coach's time is up. Do you want to just rot away to consistent 8-4, 7-5, 6-6 seasons? i sure don't

Think about it though man, we played on the road....We didn't have a choice if Ainge wasn't healthy enough to go then he wasn't going to....We knew that going into last night.....We also knew it wasn't going to be easy....No, I didn't expect to get blown out but it's going to happen especially when you play as poorly as we did as a team....This late in the season, it's not coaching...It's how bad the boys want it, the coach's have done all they can for now....I think a lot of it had to do with last night, that our boys went out and felt like they didn't have anything to play for

no way. You can coach teams throughout. Other teams come up with different defensive schemes to stop teams they dont' see until November. Chavis changed nothing about our D and evidently just crossed his fingers and it got us nowhere. There is no reason UT should ever get embarassed to start out a half like that. crompton played fine last week and was a completely different person. They didn't have him prepared at all and it is a coach's job to make sure you want it. I never really saw the defense faces, but i'll admit crompton looked like he was just out there to be out there... again though, motivation comes back to your coaches

I agree with some of that but to an extent do you not think that alot of being motivated has to come from the players? I mean they have to want it to win, not go out there thinking they can just go through the motions and win...Crompton looked like a 4 year old lost in Wal-Mart last night on that field....I kept waiting to see Ainge but it nevere happened

I have ever right to tell anyone what I think. I have been a VOL follower for 43 years now and I can just about talk any year and the problems of those teams. So do I have the right to tell you? You darn right I do, just as you have the right to say what you say. The only difference is, your knowledge level of what a Coach brings to the table, still needs several years of learning. So you want to fire a coach, put you a poll up here and see which side is with you,.

and while you’re at it, who would YOU suggest is better?

I don't see 8-4, 7-5 or 6-6 this season. More like 9-3. How many of us had we know we would be 9-3 at the start of the season would have taken it.

I couldn't of said that better, and fulmer and CUT should've seen that thursday and friday and made some changes but didn't. I understand we'll get some spankings from time to time, but we had nothing going for us that first half. maybe the coaches plan just failed. But you can't wait until the second half to "adjust". The coaches have to start adjusting on the fly.

ooooh, you have 20 more years of experience on being a vol fan whoop di doo. if you read my posts, i'm saying the seats are getting warm, I'm not ready to fire anyone yet. There's several people out there that can come up with defensive schemes. what a stupid post. i'm older i know more....

That's how it looked last night, but what are we going to when Ainge is gone and he's what we've got? The boy has to learn sometime though, and just like 2004, we're going to take our lumps starting a freshman QB on the road....Yeah, we didn't get blown out by much of anyone in 2004(with the exception of one of the Auburn games)but we took them then..We'll have to learn to take them when we have a Freshman starter....Yeah he's started 1 game and played most but that's not enough experience to just go out and hand him the ball and say "Give 'em hell son"

you're exactly right.. and that's evidently what the coaches did this week. They didn't prepare him, plain and simple. they just said "Give 'em hell son"

i wonder since he played well against LSU if the staff thought he was farther along than he really was. regardless this staff needs to go.

Why am I arguing with someone who can't read? Lord help the years of being a vol fan were saying I have seen every coach in that time come through and all the problems they face. and this is no reason to run any of them off. So that being said you go read the post again. and yes I do have the right to say if you don't like what they are doing, go find some team you can.
So lesson over Junior. You say you don't like what they are doing, like I said poll the board and then come back to play with the ones who have the knowledge.

in your 43 years how many championships have you seen? so we kept coaches who kept us on the brink during your 43 years, that's great. if fulmer and co. don't get their act together by '08 it's time to get a coach who can get us over that brink

I still don't think that's enough to fire Fulmer though.....Especially after last year....Yea, I know, that's been used a lot this year "compared to last year" but man I'm happy with this year after the way things went last year, I'm glad to finally be on the giving end of some of these wins....Not receiving them....When Ainge is healthy we have one of the best offenses in the country and we can put up points....It seems like this year our Offense has swapped rolls with our Defense in the sense of they're keeping us in the game most of the time and keep us close enough to win it but the other side of the ball thinks that's good enough, they should have learned against Florida and LSU....Granted last night the offense didn't do much to keep us in the game, we just got outplayed the whole night, Arky wanted it more than we did

and by the way, senior, i can read. you told me you were older you knew more. you said my knowledge level still needed years of learning. i've played sports, i know what coaching is all about.. you can't make that kind of assumption
