I think Hurts is no better at throwing the ball and reading defenses than JG. They’re both subpar at nuances of looking off defenders, etc. I desperately want a playmaker at QB though and he is that at least with his legs.

I would think Pruitt and staff are already working on that if they let him transfer. I don’t see Pruitt adding him unless he thought he could play immediately.

You are assuming Hurts is better because of what he has done at Alabama. Zero proof he would be better at TN. How many QBs have transferred from Bama and played better at the other school? The Hurts fascination is crazy. He plays on a team loaded with the best talent in the nation and has played well. Lets not forget, that same Bama system made Coke, McCarron and RB Blake Sims look like Heisman QBs.

JG can make plays. Our OL is garbage and our WRs drop a lot of passes. Put JG on Bama and you would likely see him succeed.

Well Hurts his sophomore year threw for 17 touchdowns and 1 interception for 2081 yds and ran for 855 yds.

JG this year threw for 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions for 1907 yds and ran for -94 yds.

Maybe but put our QBs on that team and they'd probably look a lot better too. I like hurts and respect him. I don't think he's that good of a qb to overcome the issues that we have.

I have to disagree with you. Hurts is a true dual threat QB. Just his ability to run automatically creates problems for defenses. Look at the fact that his passing significantly improved this year. He became a more complete QB.

When he is in trouble he can escape and our current QB has not shown that he can do the same. Because he is not a dual threat. So, yes I believe Hurts would be a better QB at Tennessee then our current QB.

In the college game, I think this makes a huge difference. Just being like Tee Martin, and getting that critical first down on 3rd and short in the 4th quarter of a close game can make all the difference.

Well not having a true QB coach always stunted JGs growth. But unless I see some major advancement in his game this coming year, I would think JG didn’t have as high of a ceiling as we all thought. That being said I hope he does improve.
