‘23 FL OT Francis Mauigoa (Miami commit)

Still in better shape than a lot of spacs. Stock value may be down I’m not familiar with the particular company, if cash flow is good it may not matter as much. Also you would need to consider what the guys net worth was outside of that one company, I’m sure he’s somewhat diversified.
He and his partner just lent the company $180mm to keep it afloat. Couldn't pay a bank it's current obligation.

Organic cash flow is $0. They've never made a dime. All litigation prospecting. Which means time in court and no promises.

I'm sure he has a decent bit of other cash...but when you have $20b, throwing $50mm at recruits and expecting basically no financial return...wgas. But when you "only" have $500mm...well that's a whole different story.

You realize wtf im saying right ? It was already at the top of the page. Thanks for playing

Cool beans, you commenting is part of what you perceive as the problem though, even if you are just commenting to tell others not to comment. As a whole, I've never understood dudes who bump threads to tell other people not to talk about things. It is a curious internet phenomenon. At least you didn't start a new thread for that purpose, I've seen that done too.

The last OL Miami had drafted was Danny Isidora (Guard; 2017 5th Round Vikings). Before that it was 2015 Erick Flowers and 2014 Seantrel Henderson (former #1 HS recruit and 7th Round draft pick).

All of this is to say that it’s no guarantee FM succeeds at the U. As some have said that is a lot of money to spend on an OL.
I mean kid is definitely getting a look at playing LT for the money they spent. Definitely think he’s a RT or guard though. Him and the 4 million they’re paying him is Miami’s problem now.

Another issue which I bet pops up, if FM was paid $4m by this booster centers around access. Nothing is free and there will be a cost, the question is what form it takes and if the coach has to get involved to handle it. Football is a hard game and it just got harder for coaches and ADs.

It’s interesting bc before this year, I believe Texas’s Oline had about the most lucrative deal in college for Olinemen. Last I saw they were at about 250k per player. You would think around 400-500k per year had to be the range we were thinking this got to. Miami went batcrap crazy then. 😂

And if they tell you they do, they’re lying.

Nah, I bet it is or will get out. Seems to have reached Boo before the presser if those accounts on here are true. Have to wonder if he overheard a Nico call. When UM became a real player and when he pulled the trigger will get out. I doubt the staff was shocked at the presser. I really just hope he handled it properly with our staff in case the UM deal does not pan out on paper and we can get back in the secondary phase. I totally understand a player/family jumping on a deal if what has been indicated is CLOSE to the truth. But there may be some risk there once again if there is any truth to the one man show stories in this thread.

So another swing and a miss on the type of big impact player that we need to compete with GA, Florida and Alabama, but we got that 3* kid from Kentucky, so all is well.

I thought Texas's was only 50k/player per year. Just what I remember

Agree 2m over 4 years was probably right on our end. Then they just doubled it or something crazy.

While still signing a 5* yesterday haha.

And coming up Thursday a potential 247 5*.

Let's see how we do with him and Umarov.

And if we never got Nico or our NIL word got out...we never even would have heard from FM and no one here would even be following his situation...and yet people would actually feel relatively BETTER having never even been DEEP in the game for a top-10 player, because hey at least we didn't "miss" in the same way.

Funny how we let emotions mess with what is rational and irrational.

What should our counter bid for him have been?

We did not swing and miss, we let a fast ball a foot high and two feet outside go by. We offered when the pitches were in the strike zone.

Oh. That's right. I forgot that when players commit to UT, they just love Knoxville, our coaching staff and everything to do with our program. When they commit elsewhere, they're just looking to maximize their payout and we weren't willing to match the going rate because clearly they're overrated. They didn't commit to UT.

Even if it got out, it didn’t get out to anyone that posts on VN. And if the staff knew, that means nothing here bc no one here is on the staff.

Unless something changed it was 50k/player, not 250
