‘23 FL OT Francis Mauigoa (Miami commit)

After all the criticism I laid on Friend, I easily agree that Elarbee is one hell of an OL coach.
Yeah May have to mention him being up there with best of them. Given the DLines and Front 7’s we’ve played, you could make an argument that we have the best or AT LEAST one of the best OLines in the country.

We made 2 projected first round pick edge rushers non factors in back to back games. I think it's easy to view Heupels offense as not very offensive line friendly, but it's built on pounding the rock. We have some NFL offensive lineman on this team and that's going to be good to sell to recruits.

Don't forget making Brenton Cox a non-factor as well.

The development we've seen since the Pitt game has been incredible - looks like a different unit out there.

Given our competition, we are playing as the best OL in the country or at least tied with Michigan. Michigan though, hasn't played the DLs we have in recent weeks especially Bama. I doubt they could even put up the rushing yards against Bama that we did. Especially when you give Bama time to sub out people.

I thought this kid got a big chunk of change to choose Miami? I'm not saying we can't afford him, but might complicate him getting back in the mix.

Our biggest needs for next year and best opportunities for playing time are TE, OG, OT, LB, CB, and S. I expect these positions to be where coaches look for potential starters, depending on what's in the portal. Francis would have an opportunity to win a starting spot at LG for us. That should be appealing coupled with NIL opportunities, but there has been no indication that there is still any serious communication going on here.

That NIL listed value is a guesstimate based on some formula they have. Doesn’t mean that’s what their NIL deal is worth
I know, but it's a place to start. So, a $307k valuation in terms of real money maybe $500k. It would be nice to see the actual amounts, but I'm pretty sure that minors are not allowed to sign a legal contract in Florida. Maybe with a parent or guardian.

With the info that’s out there, it’s prob safe to assume FM’s deal is potentially worth well over a million dollars

Preseason, 3 of the top 6 DLs were Pitt, LSU & Ala. Tennessee handled all 3 pretty well. LSU is missing a big DT but the others are all back plus a freshman has stepped up to replace the injured guy.

Based on what?

Pretty easy.... has he signed anywhere for starters. I have seen no indication we are going to modify our offer to this guy, don't have a clue where our staff has him on the war room wall. Don't know if he is a cultural fit or not. Don't know if his current detitanation's deal soured if we would jump back in or not. But it ain't over till it's over. I contemplate losses from our commit list for the same reasons. Things change and speculating BY OTHERS is allowed.

Maybe they need more time to understand what he is coaching or get experience, but they seem out of position and several times I saw them just leave their man which allowed and easy completion on Saturday night.
I know we were down 2 starters.
A lot of the plays you’re talking about is probably bc Bryce scrambled for and extended the play for 5 seconds or longer, and when he runs up the guys that are supposed to cover zone coverages have to respect and run up to him.. trust me it’s not as bad you think, this defense steps up when they have to, I’ve noticed that.
