Did he actually sign a nil deal or was it verbally? The problem is he signed away his NIL rights to Ruiz and his company. So, yes he could come here, and he would keep whatever money he earned there. But if Ruiz refused to allow him out of his NIL deal, he’d not be able to make anything off his NIL since he obviously can’t fulfill his agreements to Ruiz if he were in Knoxville

Don’t think that’s the way that works. While we all know it happens, you aren’t supposed to use NIL to entice a recruit. If FM wants to go somewhere else and Ruiz tries to use a contract, then Miami basically admits they enticed him with an NIL deal. All of these deals are most likely contingent upon the player enrolling at the school.
Ruiz “doesn’t work” for the school. It could be a similar deal as Nico’s where he signs his NIL rights to Ruiz and whatever companies he might specify but doesn’t mention Miami at all. So basically if he transfers Ruiz doesn’t have to give him work so he can’t make money off NIL.
But we don’t actually know the details.
He was there to see it in person

It’s the same as Nico, he signed with Spyre, they’re not attached to UT, (wink wink nudge nudge) but we all know if he decided to stay in Cali and play for USC Spyre would not be marketing him.
He signed with Ruiz’s company, which stipulates he do certain things related to Ruiz’s company to get paid, and if he doesn’t, he makes no money. Ruiz will not make those options available if he leaves, but like Nico, if he’s made money already, it’s his regardless of what he does.
