Plus the fact that they got them for about five or six years in a row. Big Difference!Yeah, you may want to watch out for those players though. I think Texas A&M has a lot of those players and it hasn't worked for them.
What makes Alabama (and now Georgia) so strong is not just the fact that they get those classes but they get those kids to behave and play hard.
Totally get it. Some dudes we got under Pruitt were also wanted by good programs. We praised those recruits then
It seems like a lot of Sabans assistant approach rebuilding the same way. They think the only thing they need to do is get the recruits on campus. A lot of them miss out on what they should be doing to develop the current roster.I think his point is that Miami is getting good players despite sucking, just like Pruitt did. They’re the same

At least five 5* and fourteen 4* from ‘23 class want to take crap from him
IMO they were committing to a brand and prestige image, not him specifically.
Quite a few people have noticed this. They're not as disciplined. They don't fight as hard. They used to blow out the middling teams and, if they lost, they'd barely lose. While they're still barely losing, they're also barely beating the middling teams.
Also Saban is getting old and IMO more resembles late-career Bowden than anything else. They still have a lot of talent and that's sustaining them but the drive isn't really there. Bama is just a free ride to CFP and a draft pick to these kids.
UGA is now what Bama used to be.
This convo is just happening too soon for me.
- played in NC game just last season
- won the NC the year before that
Every time Saban has 2 losses everyone predicts the beginning of the end for him. I’m more of a wait and see guy.
I’m seeing zero logical comparison to late career Bowden.
And here is current Saban:
Multiple Tennessee players have directly said that Alabama was nowhere as physical as Georgia. That's a loss of a massive cultural staple that has made Bama... Bama.
Saban himself also remarked about how the players were anxious when they normally chant.
He's been whining endlessly about transfer market and NIL. I had the displeasure of living in Bama for almost a decade and know quite a few reasonable Bama fans. They have all seen it.
I don't think the dynasty is over, definitely not. But there does seem to be a marked change in what made Bama so dominant. Most of them as well as me, see UGA now like what Bama was then. Just a hard-@ss physical team you did -NOT- want to get when they were mad. I don't see that with Bama and many others don't either.
And I should have clarified: I kinda see Bama now like what FSU was under Bowden around the early 2000s which was late in his 33 year career. I didn't mean in the literal last 3-4 years. They weren't as crisp. They weren't as physical. They weren't intimidating. They were talented and got by on talent but that talent started going dry.
I'd like the account of Saban seriously slipping to take root in the minds of the top football prospects. And for them to start questioning whether he will leave during their college years.Yeah the thing about them not being as physical and they were anxious I heard and I far that. But I feel like those can be corrected. College programs cycle players in and out.
Will he correct them? History says yes. My fandom says I hope not and that their program is fractured. But I’m just gonna wait and see
