‘23 FL OT Francis Mauigoa (Miami commit)

He won 73% of his games at Oregon, 72% of his conference games, and took his team to the conference championship three times in four years, including two conference championships and a top 5 finish.
If that is not "impressive", your expectations are waaaayyyyyyy out of line.

And he took over a 7-5 team from Taggart, recruited lights out, left them a 10-win program that won its division and a roster full of studs that set the stage for the season they're having now. Give Cristobol some time. He'll do well there.

He’ll do well. Not a NC caliber HC tho. He’s a recruiter. He’ll amass talent just like at Oregon. And when he has the most talented team in his conference and one of the most talented in the country, he’ll go 10-3 and drop a couple he’s supposed to win, just like at Oregon.

Maybe. But this year he's got a loss to Texas A&M that's looking worse each week, MTSU got 'em at home by two touchdowns, Duke curb-stomped them 45-21, and they're just a 2.5 point favorite against Virginia tomorrow.

Would love to see us flip Mauigoa and put the big Samoan in front of our slim Samoan.

He’s just not informed at all is he? Makes a statement to fit his narrative on Cristobal.

Cristobal will get Miami to 9-10 wins annually and recruit top 10 every year. Pretty much where we were with Fulmer. Now he hasn’t shown an ability to break through that 9-10 win area but he’ll do well. He’ll amass too much talent not to be 9-10 wins consistently in that conference which Miami will certainly take after their 15 year run with mediocrity

I think he will get a big boost since he is staying in an inferior league like the ACC.

Fulmer started 37-5, and went on to win two SEC titles and a National title in his first 5 years. Cristobal @ Miami is pretty much no where near where we were with Fulmer..

I think this one came down to NIL based on the money but at some point, I think we could approach him again with the way Miami has been struggling. Perhaps offer a little more $$.
Anything is possible in recruiting

I think a lot of these will come down to how valuable our coaches and collective view a prospect. Hypothetically, Miami might see prospect A as worth a 500k/yr deal and UT only sees them worth 300k/yr. Who knows though

Although this guy is a 5 star, he maybe a head case. Miami has a better class than most the SEC in these rankings which makes 0 sense right now. I don't see the draw? They have 0 fans, get blown out at home by MTSU, and play in an abysmal division. I guess the campus is in a beautiful area, maybe that is the draw. (I have visited Miami and it is a gorgeous campus).

I get NIL but you would think SEC programs like Tennessee would have more NIL money than Miami.

Agreed with all of your points. What they can sell is a great education and an incredible place to live. Their NIL is funded by super fan and multi-millionaire (maybe more, idk) John Ruiz

John Ruiz

It took me awhile to understand some kids don't care about tradition, fans, etc. and a large number of them didn't grow up watching football on TV every night in their house. Or have a favorite team to watch on Saturdays. So many stories about kids who just started playing as a kid and were just better than everybody naturally, yet never fell in love with the game

We live in a microwave society and they want their money now, and as much as they can possibly get. And those kids that don't personally feel that way could have handlers/family members that do

Yeah, you may want to watch out for those players though. I think Texas A&M has a lot of those players and it hasn't worked for them.

What makes Alabama (and now Georgia) so strong is not just the fact that they get those classes but they get those kids to behave and play hard.

My man what kinda bubble do you live in that it took you a while to understand that other people grow up differently / have different interests in life than you lol

Jk jk. Props to you for coming to that realization. Look at VN over here with the personal growth.

Mostly had to do with I was 13 when I created this account and starting following this madness

Crazy to think that this place has been a staple for my teenage years and entire adult life

Maybe. Bama looks considerably less disciplined than in the past. When Saban was the gate keeper to these kids getting to the league and making serious money he could rule like a tyrant. Now some kids are seeing they can make life changing money in college and not have to put up with crap from a midget.
