'18 FL QB Joe Milton (Tennessee commit)

Watched some of the Michigan St every snap highlight. Looks like something that can be worked with. Doesn’t wow me. His WRs kind of sucked. He does have better feel and ability to move out of the pocket than JG so that is a plus lol. JG was like a slow robot

All this talk about basing a qb's ability on stats is skewed because the offense and coaching situation that he was previously in probably didn't fit his skill set as much as the one that he's getting into now. Also talk about who couldn't beat out who is skewed because you don't know what traits the coaches are looking at to set a depth chart. You first have to identify what intangibles and skill set you're looking for when you put on the tape, does this player have the tools to give me what I need? If the answer is yes, then you take a shot. Welcome To Rocky Top!

Oh my lord...please NO!!! Save the ‘ship for a need or at least a quality QB. Milton is a prime example of how the recruiting services fall in love with a kid strictly due to a metric (in this case arm strength) and completely ignore productivity. No matter how hard he throws, can’t damage a barn door if you can’t hit it.

Wow. Got caught up on all the hyperventilating and need a nap. Believe in Coach Huep's ability to develop QBs. Don't care how it looks bringing in another transfer. I bet 2 of the 4 (counting Salter) will leave this summer. I bet whoever the starter is will be very productive and in November those of us who are capable of it will be very pleased. Go Vols!!

How many other big time D1 programs bring in / transfer QBs in the same season? And yes it is obvious. If we truly had 3 talented D1 QBs competing then we wouldn’t need another transfer QB.

Did you see LSU bring in another transfer QB to compete with Burrow? How about UGA when they brought in Daniels?

The fact that Milton is coming in to compete says a lot about our QB situation. Regardless of what you want to think.
Uh, Daniels was a transfer QB.

Its all about fit. Milton was a prob a bad fit at Ann Arbor. By all accounts HB is trending down here. Gussung we have 2 transfer out (JG and TBD) So we need 2 inbound.

Also safe to say for the last 10 years we have not had a QB coach that was worth half a &^$# in teaching and developing. Let see what the new coaches can do and maybe we can move forward. So far I'm impressed with CJH working with all the QB's on mechanics in the videos, its about the details.

Uhm no, he definitely is not. I saw him play a few games at Mich and he looked absolutely clueless. But I've seen guys just flip the switch with the right Coach's, so who knows.
Once bitten twice shy, I am not getting my hopes up. Both Milton and Hooker are Keller Chryst till they ain't.
