Every quality guy, HS or portal, is not going to be a fit candidate from our side OR their side. Both sides may do some dancing, for their own reasons, among them being backup or fallback options, but are not at the top of the board. Dancing rather than pushing hard is just part of the game. Does not mean WE don’t recognize their talent or THEY don’t see us as the best way to maximize their college days. NIL now adds another variable in the commitment game. So I don’t see getting despondent when everybody we contact takes another path. Player interaction is one of my keys on ALL IN and FIT status.Making a general assumption based off where the current 4-5* WRs are committed or seem to be leaning. Love the smartarse sarcasm though…
Thanks for educating me coach, glad some of our staff is on here giving info...Every quality guy, HS or portal, is not going to be a fit candidate from our side OR their side. They’re stacked with talent. Stacked with cash. And they’re coming off an appearance in the playoffs. Their boosters don’t mind overpaying for whoever they think they need.I read where several 5* WR's were trending to TX... Arch hasn't even played a snap and most likely won't this season... heck they can't take them all... Wish we could have this type of pull with Nico and GM... Only May but would like to see us get another top tier WR...
Will be interesting to see how they play the final spot. I don't believe that Jackson and Dodson are getting a lot of NIL money (on a relative basis of course). I also don't think we broke the bank for Matthews last cycle and certainly didn't for Staley. So from a chemistry perspective and also in terms of relative value (i.e., how much better is Ffrench - or Cunningham - than someone like DJ Miller or Travis Smith AND how badly do we need another 5-star WR vs. needs elsewhere in a world in which NIL money isn't finite) I wouldn't be surprised if we're not willing to pay what it takes to land a Ffrench or Cunningham.I read where several 5* WR's were trending to TX... correct, no one gives a damn about TX or any other school. That's why I want all the WR's at the real UT. Not understanding what the draw is to them over us when we have as much or more talent in the QB room. No, it doesn't make sense how you're always hyping up other programs.
Nobody gives a damn about Texas...
