Florida falling apart

There’s always a couple of kids that flip from every program not named UGA or Alabama….and even sometimes there too.

Fake news.

We are recruiting very well. So well we had a decent offensive lineman announce he's headed to the portal. Team is very young in the defensive secondary. Mistakes at the start of the year are being cleaned up.

Two years.
Sun Belt Billy has two more years? That sounds about right to me too.

Hell Auburn had to complain about playing Ga & Ala back to back before Tennessee got Ga moved. Vols played Fla & Ga back to back a lot of yrs. SEC said “tough $h!t” to Vols.
Imagine the league office treating Tennessee that way. 🙄

At least the officiating was better in those days.

heck I think there were a couple times in a 4 game stretch we would play Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. I think it was pretty common for it to happen over 5 weeks. we were done playing the big boys by the Third Saturday in October.

Georgia lost a high 4* LB to Auburn. and I feel like they lost a 4* WR somewhere too. I don't really keep track to know.

Tennessee‘s football program is fine.

That said, a very vocal minority of the fan base is nuts.
It’s become not at all surprising that a lot of the rational and common sense posts about our football program have come from fans of other programs. We are not in a bad position. Far from perfect, but we have an identity, a strong administration backing and a coach who has won more big games in 2 3/4 seasons than all the coaches we’ve had combined since 2009.

We have the same total number of commits, the same 5*, 4*, and 3* distribution.
That's spin my man, or cope as the kids say. We are 8 spots behind them nationally. More significantly they are 2nd out of the new 16 team SEC, we are 7th.

I will not argue because I don't think you've made a compelling point.

I do have a question which can help me understand how you approach your conclusions...how is the data "total points" valid but the data of "total commits and distribution of stars" spin? Aren't both quantifiable data points which exist irrespective of inherent bias the reader (us) has?

Oh, I think you see it there too, but like we sometimes do, I might bet their defections often have more to do with kids being told to look around and getting recruited over.

A lot of fans are forgetting that we were wandering around in the darkness from 2008-2020. During that stretch, the ceiling for win totals was around 7 to 9 wins with the jokers running the program while the floor was absolutely pathetic. Personally, it feels like the floor even in a down/gap year with Heupel is 8 or 9 wins. Heck, even under Fulmer with some seriously loaded rosters UT had mediocre or poor results in 1999, 2000, 2002, and the disgraceful 2005 season. Transition years are the norm for most college football programs.
