Kirby may not be a world beater, but only one or 2 of those teams would have to beat us to eliminate us every year.

All I’m saying is we need to make a damn good hire to keep up.

After hearing the presser......Tennessee isn't hiring Chip; however I bet he and the NCAA gets along better than most think.

They had to give him the show cause, because he left for the NFL.......and there was a new "sneaky Pete" rule put in place.

The NCAA themselves said (on several occasions) Chip did not commit any violation and he didn't even know about the violation that had occurred. I have read many times where the NCAA has said openly that Chip is a class act.

I agree , I dont think UT can play the game of hiring Butch 2.0. They have to get this hire right.

I used to think Frost was a lock to Nebraska, but not so sure anymore. When Nebraska left the Big 12, they turned their back on the state of Texas, a recruiting hot bed for them at the time. I think its even harder now to recruit to Nebraska because (1) they don't play conference games in or against Texas schools; and (2) the recruits coming up now are too young to remember when Nebraska was relevant. Sound familiar?

I think Nebraska needs a coach who understands the Big 10. Greg Schiano would be a good fit there. Nebraska defense used to be known as the "blackshirts". He would bring back that emphasis on defense. Frost would be a good hire for them too, just not sure that is where he really wants to go, because its a huge challenge.

We won the East in 04 when all those coaches were there. Holtz never beat TN, not at SC anyway.

We also won the East in 07 when Richt, Meyer, and Spurrier were at those schools.

Bob Stoops is done coaching, everyone can check him off their lists.

Chip Kelly will be back in coaching next year either at Florida, Tennessee or UCLA. If there’s fire somewhere behind all the internet smoke, Kelly to Florida is imminent.

McElWain to Florida was a very “meh” hire. UF fans were hopeful and optimistic but nobody was blown away. Mac got a huge benefit of the doubt because he earned respect from the UF fan base as OC at Bama. We saw him up close and personal in some SECCG’s and he had his stuff together. Having said all that, it just didn’t work out, bad fit, all that.

Could be a major smokescreen but the Kelly to Florida buzz is all over the place.

Personally, Kelly and Frost are my 1 and 1a, I’d be thrilled with either.

Also think if Florida goes with Frost, Chip Kelly may end up at UCLA. So if UT wants in on Kelly, they had better be moving now.
