Florida has reached out to Bob Stoops, Chip Kelly already

UF is the third best job...in the state of Florida right now. I think people over rate it. Yes there's talent all over the state, but Knoxville is close enough to Georiga, Virginia, SC, NC, Kentucky, Alabama to recruit well also. Plus TN as a state is producing very good talent now days. Also, its the only big boy school in the state. UT > UF. No, I do not have orange colored glasses on.

Brice was on Basilio earlier and talking about how UF's financial situation is worse than UT's at the moment.

Stop reading at Brice and Basilio. One thing everyone knows is how Foley was tight with money. Money won't be the issue if Kelly or Frost isn't named.

I recall a lot of behavioral issues by players at Oregon during Kelly's days. Im not sure Florida wants another guy that will let "the inmates run the prison". The suspension of 11 players stealing from the university started the JimMac attack and the fake death threats finished him off. JMO

Smoke screen. Chip Kelly is racist. They want Frost and Fired early because they were afraid UT would make a run at him.

I hope to Christ CK does become the coach of Florida because that program will supernova implode into a black hole of misery. CK knows this.

Was Mullen ever a formal candidate for the Florida job before they hired Muschamp or McElwain? There was a lot of media speculation he might go there, but I think it was just that. I don't recall him ever being actually pursued by Foley.

I think it would be extremely curious this time if they didn't take a long look at Mullen. His old boss at Miss St is now the AD at Florida. What does that say about Mullen if Scott Stricklin didn't at least strongly consider him?

Mullen and Foley had beef. Mullen was never an option with Foley still in charge. Don't know what Scott's relationship was like with Mullen at Miss State, but it's obviously far more likely we give him a look now than it was with Foley. If there's not even any Mullen smoke, then I have to imagine Scott was less than enthused with working with him. Wouldn't be a huge surprise if that were the case, he's got a reputation.

If Foley is still involved as the "emeritus AD," then he might not get a look once again.

Yea... Florida would whip our behind every year if they got chip.

Had been told for a week or so that Frost was the target and was offered and Kelly was also shown interest, but they were waiting on Scott Frost's answer. Was just texted that the deal with Kelly is done and the AA has given the approval. For whatever reason ex AD Jeremy Foley was trying to block this....not sure how he could or what his role with the University is now.

Foley was the man here for a long time and reportedly still has a lot of influence around the AD. That being said, his last two football hires were failures. I hope he stays away from this one.

Nothing against you FLA Boys on here but I personally hope no one in the SEC hires Chipper.

I hate that blistering warp fact 6 speed game.
Just aint football to me.,
Hell even the zebras hate it and struggle to keep up.

God I hope it's chip kelly

He would turn Kadarius Toney and Malik Davis into all americans UF also has quite a bit of talented WRs being wasted at the moment

Hang on to Corral and next years offense could be entertaining as hell for gator fans

Defense not so much that's a 2-3 year rebuild after all the garbage Mac and Randy signed

Yep, the narrative has changed quickly.

Makes you wonder if it’s all a smokescreen and Mullen is the guy based on the MSU ties with Stricklin.

I don't. I can respect people thinking UF is a better job, but I don't think its CLEARLY FAR AND AWAY a better job like many suggest.

It is, and you can thank UT’s leadership for being clearly far and away inferior to UF over the past 20+ years.

If all things were equal...recruiting base, tradition, facilities...which athletic department would you trust to make the right hire, and which athletic department would you trust to quickly correct making the wrong hire?

It begins and ends with the people in charge, and UF is head and shoulders above UT in that regard.

UF has made two meh hires too. Not quite as bad as UTs, but still meh. I think after this coaching search, the better job will be revealed. And one will only slightly be better than the last. To think one is WAY better is a bit delusional imo. They’re both top tier jobs. There’s pros and cons to both. I think they outweigh eachother and I give the slight edge to UT simply because they don’t really have a major in state competitor whereas UF has two.
