Florida in trouble

I know UF self reported this particular violation.

What's scary is that college BBall is way worse in terms of agents meddling than football. I only pray football doesn't end up with their own version of World Wide Wes.

What's even more scary is a double post. :)

$100,000 in cash---WOW! UF will likely have to forfeit the sugar bowl win and give up some scholarships. I wonder if their coaches knew about this huge payoff.

the difference between this and bush is that florida is the one that reported it. i bet they don't get any real penalties.

That is the million dollar question. if they can prove Fl knew then the hammer will fall. If not, probably a slap on the wrist.

Little known fact:

Both Pounceys have tattoos across their chests that read "MY FIRST MILLION".

Looks like Maurkice was 10% of the way there when we played Cincinnati.

Folks, let's get our facts straight. It is, at least at this point, patently incorrect to say that "Florida is in trouble" over this. From the article:

"We were made aware of some information in early June that we reported to law enforcement and we then shared with the NCAA and the SEC," athletic director Jeremy Foley said in a statement released Monday morning to ESPN.com. "At this time we have no information that has indicated that there are any compliance issues for the University of Florida."
Florida law enforcement could be investigating whether the state's agent registration laws were violated.

If this did happen it is immediately a problem for Pouncy and the agent. But if UF didn't know about it and complied with all requirements to prevent it and it happened anyway, and if Florida reported it when it found out about it, then no harm will come to UF, as it shouldn't.

Lot of ifs in that statement.

I think most folks here get that LG. No need to be so defensive on the subject.

I dont see Florida being hurt by this since they self-reported it and didnt sweep it under the rug. North Carolina, on the other hand, may be in some SMU, Alabama, UCS kind of trouble.
