Florida is in harm’s way if

In addition to McElwain winning 2 SEC east championships, Florida didn't do itself any favors by firing McElwain with cause. It looks bad to any incoming coach.

You’re wrong on both counts.

UF didn’t fire McElwain for cause, otherwise he would have received zero dollars on the way out the door.

And we did ourselves a huge favor getting rid of that guy.

Any incoming coach with half a brain knows you don’t make up stories about players receiving death threats, then offer nothing in the way of details or information to your superiors, while at the same time making UF’s offense under Muschamp look dynamic by comparison.

If UF does miss out on Kelly, who do you think y'all will get?

Remember when Saban lost the press conference at Bama since he wasn't number 1? So glad Bama screwed that up so badly...

Oh wait.

If I am Chip Kelly, I would wait to see how the Willie Taggart thing plays out. If the rumors are true about him wanting to come back south, call me crazy - but I think Chip would be an excellent fit at Oregon. Not sure if the information about Willie wanting come back to the southeast are true, but with Chip and Phil Knight being so close, something could be in the works there. Slim chance, but this year's coaching carousel has so many openings, that dominos could start to fall and people land in highly unlikely spots.

Your Avi was dismissed

I guess it's time to find a new one ... I'll wait untill the coaching search is over then I can put Dan Mullen as my Avi . Also glad he is gone . Pretty much another Jalen Hurd in the locker room

More likely Lane Kiffin coaching here or Kelly at Oregon this year coming up

I disagree about the Hurd comparison.

He's obviously just an immature kid who would still be a Vol if not for bad decision making and social media.

Great talent and exactly the attitude that's been missing since Tennessee was good at football.

According to a guy who is as inside as u get to the Wide Receivers at UT he has been basically quit on the team 4 times this year and was already thinking about going pro at the end of the year . And butch covered up a lot of discipline troubles he had while here

McElwaine and Muschamp were his last 2 hires tho

And i honestly believe those were his first choices other then maybe stoops

Foley didn’t like going after big fish like Kelly he wanted to look super smart hiring an up and comer

Something isnt right at UF -- Muschamp is building a monster at SC now

I follow your logic, but it's not as if UF could have preliminary conversations with Frost or Mullen until their respective seasons are over.

Really? You should reveal this on Volnation. Their posters thought your school had an insurmountable head start. :)

Chip chooses UCLA over them. The PR will be horrible and whoever UF targets next, Frost, Mullen, etc will know, and will public knowledge, that they are the 2nd choice. That’s called losing the press conference. Not a good start.

I appreciate the way Currie is handling the search for us, as frustrating as it is day to day for fans, keeping everything very close to vest and divulging absolutely nothing. Gives him room to be turned down and not have it splashed across every website from coast to coast, while finding another solid candidate that will please most.

If we don't get Gruden, we will be settling for our second choice and everyone knows it. Not sure what the big deal is.

Some people need to start recognizing that Muschamp is a good coach.

I think Muschamp (similar to Charlie Strong) was cleaning up a bad culture left by Urban, and that it was a bigger mess than most people will ever understand. That being said, Florida will be alright.
