Florida Loses To Missouri

Can't tell if u mad, trolling or just ignorant to Billy D's actual record vs. Tennessee.

Because all the original commenter said is that we've held our own against Billy D.

An 18-19 record certainly supports that. Nobody said anything about celebrating except you.

And it's a big deal to you guys because it's Billy D.

To us, it's a regular season game that historically has had little impact on the success or failure of our hoops program.

That said, UF hoops sucks donkey balls this season, and nothing short of a miracle will keep us within 10 points of UT and 30 points of UK.

I know that UF lost Finney to suspension. Is he out for the year? That was recent though, what is the reason for the struggles this year? No doubt BD is a HOF coach..so did some guys not develop or were there some injuries?

If it weren't that big of a deal, you wouldn't have been so indignant after someone merely stated that Tennessee holds it's own against Florida.

Finney-Smith's suspension smells like weed or a class attendance issue....or both.

Frazier is out with a high ankle sprain, but he wasn't exactly tearing it up, as he's our only shooter. The knock on Frazier (when he's healthy) is he goes into diva mode when his shot isn't falling, which negatively affects other parts of his game.

Kasey Hill can't shoot FTs or from the field worth a damn, turns the ball over and gets lost on defense. Other than that he's awesome.

Chris Walker went from lottery pick to Jon Horford's backup. Jon Horford will never be mistaken for Al Horford...or Tito Horford for that matter. Hell, Tito Jackson has more game.

It's laughable how bad this team is.

And you belaboring the point underscores how important regular season victories are, in the absence of any notable post-season accomplishments.

Pointing out how you are either mad, ignorant, or trolling has nothing to do with the importance of regular season basketball games.

I think it's all of the above, btw.

Your opinion is your opinion.

I'm cool with your opinion, however misguided it might be. :)

Did anyone get a look at the crowd at Mizzou for this game? Even the front row was mostly empty. It looked like what you would expect for a women's game.

We also lost to unranked Vandy, LSU, Arkansas, FSU and South Carolina twice during that B2B NC run.

It was a big enough deal to LSU, FSU, Vandy and UT to where their students stormed the court.

Teams get upset in the regular season.

Beating you 3 out of 4 and blowing you out of the gym in Feb 07 does not equate to upsets. We stormed the court the first time cause we were about 12 games into the CBP era and didn't know what we had. No one foresaw being a #2 seed and winning the East 2 months later.

The answer to the original post is....

(a) Florida isn't very good (obvious)

(b) Floirda has had injuries and suspensions

(c) They can't hit free throws. At all. Now, this dovetails with the SEC being putrid sentiment because the sad fact is if Florida could shoot a decent percentage at the foul line, particularly when it matters, then despite (a) and (b), Florida's record would be decent and they'd be on the NCAA bubble.

Now, when you are as bad as Florida truly is (and Gator fans know just how bad), how in the world they are in so many 1 and 2 point games considering that on top of being terrible, they can't hit a free throw.....

Truly mind boggling.

You storm the court when you win and don't expect to, which is what happened in '06. Don't minimize it...embrace it. UT fans did it for the exact same reason after the best UT football team in your lifetime beat us in '98.

As for '07, you blew us out a game after we clinched the regular season SEC title, and Pearl said as much following the game. Don't forget we blew you guys out in Gainesville earlier that year when everyone still had something to play for.

If you want to argue our '06 teams were on par with each other, that's fair. You beat us twice, we didn't know what we had yet, and wound up peaking at the right time.

Our '07 team was great, bordering on legendary.

I remember after the 07 win, Pearl was asked how to beat UF. He said "play them after they've wrapped up the championship."

UF will play their best game of the season against UT.

Agreed. They have already played last night. We play Thursday evening against Vandy, who has revenge on their mind and then travel the next day to Gainesville. This weeks schedule is not helping.

Yeah, it's so bad an FSU co-worker taunted me about our crappy season, I reminded her FSU beat the worst UF basketball team in nearly 20 years by a basket in Tallahassee, and we scored it for them.
