Florida Loses To Missouri

Agreed. They have already played last night. We play Thursday evening against Vandy, who has revenge on their mind and then travel the next day to Gainesville. This weeks schedule is not helping.

I really don't think you understand just how bad this UF team is.

I really cannot recall one worse than this.

Its obvious the entire team has given up on this season. Donovan might use it to evaluate some underclassmen heading into next year, but its been over for 6 weeks or so.

You storm the court when you win and don't expect to, which is what happened in '06. Don't minimize it...embrace it. UT fans did it for the exact same reason after the best UT football team in your lifetime beat us in '98.

As for '07, you blew us out a game after we clinched the regular season SEC title, and Pearl said as much following the game. Don't forget we blew you guys out in Gainesville earlier that year when everyone still had something to play for.

If you want to argue our '06 teams were on par with each other, that's fair. You beat us twice, we didn't know what we had yet, and wound up peaking at the right time.

Our '07 team was great, bordering on legendary.

You got a sweetheart draw in '06... nothing more or less. George Mason in the Final Four? Good grief.

UT seems to play better basketball on the road, but they are not good enough to just chalk up a win either regardless of how poor UF is playing.

If Richardson struggles UF will win the game. UTs margin for error is small with this group. They can play some very good basketball (for the roster) and some very bad basketball as well.

I think the fact they repeated kind of defeats the whole "luck of the draw" thing.

Those teams were 18-0 in the NCAA and SEC tourney.

Tell Michigan State, N. Carolina, and Uconn how lucky they were to draw Mason

Hard to chalk winning 1 up to just luck. I mean every team that wins one normally has a break or two along the way, but the common theme in a 64 team field for champions is being pretty darn good.

Going back to back just concretes it. Both of those teams were legit. Their NBA careers reflect that as well.

We played George Mason six times in the '06 tournament.

It's true.

Granted, it wasn't as easy as the yellow brick road you had to the elite 8 in 2013 with Florida Gulf Coast in the sweet 16 but...drawing Wisc-Milwaukee (without Pearl) in the 2nd round and easily the worst 1 seed that year (Nova) in the elite 8? ...on top of the worst team to make the final four in the last 30 years in the semi's (Mason). Yes, you could not have scripted a better draw.

And?

I don't follow historic basketball recruiting, but it's safe to say Donovan's two NCs weren't a result of Calipari-type monster recruiting classes.

That starting five fit together like puzzle pieces, stars be damned.

They did. Two were from Tenn (though we didn't want Lee Humphrey from Maryville) but Corey Brewer would have been nice.

no calipari, but those classes were still full of talent.

half of the players on those teams went on to the nba, and a couple are nba all-stars.

don't act like he coached up rag tag team to the national championship.

That's like Bill Gates being jealous of Oprah Winfrey because a couple years ago she made more money than him.

Repeating like that is crazy. 2012 fixed all that, but I'm a liar if I'm not super jelly of that repeat.

Fwiw I remember the class Parsons was in was very highly regarded. Iirc was top 5.

The 07 game in Gainesville where we were without Lofton due to a sprained ankle.

I'll pound my chest over that B2B team for the rest of my life.

I was lucky enough to be in the arena for the '06 and '07 Final Four.

Never said he did friend...

But to someone else's point, it's not like schools in the Volunteer State were clamoring over Lee Humphrey, and upon further review according to Rivals Corey Brewer was a 4* recruit, not 5*.

It's easy to say in hindsight we had a couple NBA All-Stars on that team, but no one projected Noah and Horford as NBA lottery picks coming out of high school.

Those years were also very "meh" years. You look at the rosters and see a lot of good guys, but pretty much none of them did anything after college.
