Granted, it wasn't as easy as the yellow brick road you had to the elite 8 in 2013 with Florida Gulf Coast in the sweet 16 but...drawing Wisc-Milwaukee (without Pearl) in the 2nd round and easily the worst 1 seed that year (Nova) in the elite 8? ...on top of the worst team to make the final four in the last 30 years in the semi's (Mason). Yes, you could not have scripted a better draw.
UF will play their best game of the season against UT.
As a fan of a school that has never appeared in a Final Four, I would think you would appreciate the difficulty in getting there.
When Cinderellas advance, it's not the fault of the teams hanging around.
In addition, "survive and advance" is cliche, but it's the truth.
Last year, a lot of Gator fans were happy UConn upset Michigan State. Turns out, UConn was happy about it too.
In 2000, Florida made it to the championship game before losing to Michigan State. They beat Duke and North Carolina along the way and did so with about as little nail biting as could be expected for a tournament game. But, it was the first round against Butler where they should have lost and lucked their way into a win.
Making the final four isn't easy.
We almost never struggle with UF in basketball...Even when they are good we usually beat them...During their back to back title run We beat them 3 out of 4 times...Only reason they beat us that one time was Chris Lofton was hurt and didn't play.
I think that's the point. Ya'll won in the reg season and have that to celebrate while they are celebrating NC's.

No, that's not the point at all. We are talking specifically about our record vs. Billy. It's 18-19.
Their record against other teams has zero relevance at all to the topic - which is our upcoming game against Florida.
The fact they won a championship 8 years ago is of even less relevance in a season where they will be lucky to even have a winning record.
I feel like the rest of the SEC (Arky not included, even after that waxing) has engaged one another in a "one up" battle of Suckage.
"Oh yeah? You thought we were getting better playing UK close for 80% of a game? Watch us lay a complete turd and lose to Florida in a 17 point dumpster fire."
That JUST happened. BOOM!
