With the incoming depth at RB there is a very good chance Tebow has already seen his most productive year. Although i am not saying that Tebow will be worse will this overall be good for UF?
I think that what made Tebow so effective what that defenses never new if he would pass or run, while he can of course still do this one must believe that he will run less with more rbs. I want to know yalls imput into this situation. Will this make UF an even more dangerous weapon or will it ultimately hurt UF?

(Although it may sound silly that it would hurt them if you think about it Tebow would be a little more predictable. I have no doubt his ints will increase. Not that hes not a great passer he just wont have as much of an element. He also will not be their entire offense. Will this have a kobe effect where more teammates means lessened offensive productivity?

there haven't been many heisman winners who have had the same or better stats the next season (admitably most heisman winners are seniors).

As much as I hate to say it, if UF doesn't get any productivity out of their running backs, I'm afraid that next year it will be the same for Tebow, at least the running attempts and injuries. As bad as that is, Meyer will not go away from him. I do not think he will put up the numbers he had last year running the football. I look for the passing attempts to be about the same and the rushing attempts to decrease, hopefully we will have some running back support. Passing wise, I think he could be as good or better with another year of the offense under his belt and a pretty good nucleus of receivers. I can only see this offense getting better from last year. Basically we relied on two people the whole year, can't happen this year if we want to make a run.

It is a good thing.....he will still get the ball in crunch, short yardage situations I think. They needed to help take some of the load off for sure.

UF will let Cam Newton run the "tebow" package this year. Similar to the one they used in 06. Meyer isn't risking losing his "baby" because if Tebow goes down ya'll are pretty much screwed. Tebow will run the ball about 75% less this year is my guess, and it will be easier to stop your offense...hopefully.

If you remove the "blinders" from your eyes and notice that your offense last season was Tebow running and throwing, and notice he won't be running anywhere near as much this year, it will be easier to gear a defense more towards stopping it. DT QB's are harder to stop if they are good at running and throwing, if you take away 1 of those they won't be as effective. Don't get me wrong, he will still score a ton, it will just be harder for him to do it.

Having other people to do the work isn't a bad thing. They are the same offense minus Caldwell, but the only difference is that they have actual running backs this year. Do you really think Tebow won't run at all this year? Meyer isn't going to shut that department down.

O this yr will be even better..and faster. Just too many weapons..they will score more than the 42.5 pts a game from last yr.

I don't see that happening. They will be tough but the defense overall in the sec will be better too.

They're giving James touches on O this yr other than his kick return duties.. also Rainey and CI are freaks...the O is loaded and if Tebow can get any help at all from the RB spot(which I'm still skeptical Moody is the answer) then they will be hard to stop.

I don't think they are going to completely abandon the Tebow run, that would just be dumb, but they won't use it near as much either.

I don't think Tebow's rushing numbers will be as good as last year because going through a 12 game season and taking a beating on him almost cost him to miss games with a shoulder and wrist I think. However, I think his passing numbers will be better. I could see Florida using Cam Newton like they used Tebow in 06

First of all, I don't have blinders on cause I can see the numbers he put up. Second of all, if we have a running back who can rush for at least 900 to 1000 yards, our offense will be that much harder to contain, not easier. Last year it was trying to stop Tebow running the ball, if there are 2 people who can run the football, then you will have to prepare for 2, not 1. IMO, preparing for 2 is tougher than preparing for 1 runner? Tebows YPC will go up this year, with fewer carries. The passing numbers will increase. Again, this is under the assumption he will have a 900 to 1000 yard rusher behind Tebow.

I agree with VV101. The offense will be harder (not easier) to stop if Timbow doesn't run as much because we'll have more guesswork on defense. Will it be Timbow, Rainey, Moody, Harvin, or Moore who gets the carry? The options can make one's head spin.

Hey Gator boyz, who will Florida's top 5 receivers be this year? Here's my guess:

1) Percy Harvin (provided he gets past the injury)
2) Riley Cooper
3) Louis Murphy
4) Cornelius Ingram
5) Deonte Thompson

Thoughts?
