Florida Player Credit Card Rumors

From "Inside the Gators" website.....

"Damn.....Callaway, Zaire and three defensive starters racked up 150k on 3 different females credit cards. Unbelievably dumb. There goes our season".

Tifwiw, aflcio, uoeno, eieio

So they get trolls too, I guess... That's waaaay too much to believe. Hell, Discover sends me alert texts when I authorize more than a $1K purchase. If I don't call and confirm within 5 minutes, they put a hold on the card. No way that much fraud goes undetected.

That's what I'm hearing too. This pertains to the school "stipend" card, not a stolen credit card from an individual or fraudulent activity on a Visa or MasterCard type situation. Allegedly the player used up his stipend, then reported it lost to get a new card. Basically, doubling his money. Apparently a few other players tried this too which is what set off an alarm with someone. This is exactly what happened at UGA in 2014 I believe. No players suspended in that case, players had to make restitution to the University.

Mo never got to play again after 500 taken to get meds for a sick baby. Ha ha dic k's got 200 from a coach and got to play. Callaway screws the pooch and more and still gets to play. So just sit down and shut up croc boy about how it is no big deal. It was for Mo and should be for your criminal.

That version has definitely been debunked.

Exactly. Just take Zaire, he's been on campus what, 5 weeks? So in 5 or 6 weeks, in between figuring out where to go to class and how to get around in a new town, he managed to also rack up 150k in credit card charges? That's about 30k a week, with no alerts/cancellations/questions at all. Sounds like an FSU fan stirring up bs.

Thank goodness VN never gets trolls like that

Many rumors, and at this point they are only rumors, are swirling that numerous Florida players are in trouble for possible credit card fraud. Callaway is one player that is named consistently in these, again, rumors. Anyone else hearing anything?

Yep on all paysites

Yep on all paysites

Haven't seen anything about it on gator 247 site

But if theres really a lot of smoke it's probably true

Frickin idiots credit card fraud is felony I would assume esp if it's really in the 100k+ range

Callaway is really a moron if he was involved he could be a year away from being a 1st or 2nd round pick

This isn't the gospel, but it's the most detailed report I've seen yet. The source is not official, not affiliated with any official news organization, nor with Florida, but he has a good reputation as someone who is in the know. Take it for what it's worth:

Even the headline is misleading because it's NOT a credit card, it's the school issued stipend card.

Link may be a little slow, lots of traffic right now:

Lol 1500? Thats a a huge difference from the 150k mentioned in this thread

But man those are all players we cannot afford to lose esp Taylor and Callaway those are 2 of our 3 most important players on offense this year

Telfort and Stewart both 4 star freshmen I got high hopes for and J Smith is a 6'6" DE who could be an Alex McCalister type down the road

Really don't wanna lose any of those guys

To me, losing Taylor would maybe hurt more than Callaway. That dude is rock solid at RT. If Calloway is out, you still have Massey, Cleveland, Hammond, etc...

Unless there's more to this, I don't think we lose anyone.

You're entering "kiss of death" territory. Just as soon as you criticize someone for a player screwing up, your school is next.

And EVERYONE has plenty to be ashamed of in this area.

Heh, the old "we all suck at this, you suck too, it's not just me, we all suck" defense.

That one might just fall flat. But let's watch and see.

It's Florida's turn to suck, so have at it. All is fair in SEC football country. But I can promise you this, the next time Tennessee has a player(s) screw up, I won't say a word. I know better.

How many times does a kid get to screw up before being dismissed? Just so we're taking score?
