Nope...we are one step closer to becoming FSU/UGA if Meyer doesn't make changes within his staff. UF doesn't need a complete overhaul but Durkin and Scot Loefler need to be gone...Heater to LB and hire another a DL coach that can recruit South Fla. On the other side of the ball....easy, Dazz has to be demoted or leave. Hire a new OC that can run both forms of the spread. IMO fire Drayton but he holds to many keys in Fla this season so he gets another year. All this is too logical...I think Meyer will fire everyone but Heater and Brian White.

Loeffler needs to be gone? :eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

lol....Meyer is still the coach at Florida. I'll be happy to cut and paste the updates on our recruits. Sorry good try.

Yeah, thats the point Meyer is still the coach, but I would bet my house he won't be there to coach next season!!!! Meyer has been exposed,no Mullins and no Strong equals no offense or defense!!!!

odd thing Meyer said the other night after the debacle in Talahassee is that the repair of his program will begin with "recruiting". Really? Anyone else think that comment is just weird and strange? How much better can his recruiting be?

WAAAAAAY off base! :lolabove:

It is suprising to see:

1. Amateurs (i.e., everyone here) speaking definitively about what is in the head of 17 year olds they have never met.
2. Florida Gator fans trolling here. Ah, how the mighty have fallen (7-6).

I have added Marcus Jackson to the list. Not sure about Pagan.

LOL @ you. HG a troll? I think not. He's been a member here longer, has more posts, and contributes a ton more. You are :loco:

edit: A huge homer who is often FOS? Yes. A troll? No.

I am glad that he does not seem to see the correct answer. That tells me he will stick with the staff and system and that he doesn't think either caused this year's problems.

Thats is Florida's problem not ours. Meyer doesn't have a clue how to utilize the talent he has on that team. If a talented WR or RB wants to be the best that they can be, then why go to a place where the only running play is the dive from the fullback slot?

If I were a coach recruiting vs UF, I would definitely point out how relatively few of the highly rated players they sign are making it to the NFL... especially RB's. Brantley would become my poster boy for squandered 5* talent.

UF had one down season. I believe they will be OK in the long run. Remember the D-line they brought in last year? However, the fact that the Vols could possibly have the same record as the Gators by the end of the season makes me smile!

According to James Bryant, these recruits will be here this weekend. Official visitors are Izauea Lanier, Byron Moore, Christian Harris, Mack Crowder, Brendan Downs. Someone else said Marcus Jackson and his Mom. This could end up a great weekend! Hopefully Jackson and Lanier will go ahead and commit!

Our boy Urbie has been a winner wherever he's been, so to claim he only won at Florida because of Tebow is too large of a reach for me. I'd have to defer to the Gator fans to determine how much blame should go to the staff but you better expect him to win again in Gainesville should he remain as the Head Coach.

His comment about fixing their problems with recruiting left me scratching my head for a moment. But, it's probably safe to say what he means by this is the need to recruit some better leaders. In hindsight, losing Tebow and Spikes was more damaging in that regard than anyone actually anticipated, despite the fact that others voiced this concern before the year began. I think most people felt that a locker room full of 4* and 5* could overcome anything.

In my opinion, Urbie's biggest threat at this time to getting back on top is FSU. Domination by Florida schools has been very cyclical since "The U" arrived and joined the National party...and FSU has the momentum now and we'll see this in recruiting. When they no longer control the state of Florida recruiting-wise, that will spill over to the SEC as well.

UMeyer has coached in the SEC -- the highest level -- for 6 years. In the 2 years without Tebow, he's been mediocre to poor. In the 12th game of the year, his starting QB was confused all day.

Utah and Bowling Green are minor leagues.

Both.. after this weekend we lost the lead for KB because of Meyer sticking with Dazz. Most of our high profile recruits have been on defense over the last two cycles so I think Meyer is betting on them coming around next season. This season was a total failure. I knew we would fall but this is hard to handle. Can't blame any kid that doesn't want to be part of this mess in Gainesville.Three Qbs is crazy but when you have three different people game planning I guess you geta three ring circus. I believe Urban will make the right changes. IF not he could be the next Larry Croker.
Is brantley considering a transfer?

+1

Losing Strong and Mullen hurt too. It's like saying Fulmer deserved all the credit for the run in the 90's UT had, yet faltered when he didn't Cutcliffe running the offense and Garner recruiting for him.

I think HCs get too much credit for when good things happen, and not enough blame when bad things happen. It's why Fulmer lasted as long as he did, and why Urban Meyer still has all these yahoos defending his coaching prowess by harkening back to the days of BG and Utah. Its nonsense, IMO. CUM is not the coach everybody thinks he is...and IMO he makes it worse by making himself out personally to be something he is not on the recruiting trail.

lol....then Meyer could point that FSU and GA waste more talent then anyone. Also, Mack Brown was the first Top 10 running back Meyer has gotten since coming to Fl but Brantley on the other hands is a complete mystery. Even when they tweaked things in his favor...he would only make the first read then dump it of short or hold on to the ball too long for a sack. Not sure if that's Meyer, Brantley or Scot Loeffler but that is unacceptable for any starting Qb in the SEC. Somethings you just can't blame on coaching.

All interesting information. But trolling is as trolling does.

Just look at the post -- because he's going to post this subject on a Gator website, these HS seniors are going to stay where they are? No offense to HG, but there's nothing there but gator-homer bravado.

Where do I begin? 2 National Championships in 6 years and he's now "mediocre to poor"? Everything that is wrong with Florida is now his fault (I know, I know...he's the head coach) but everything that went well in the past was either because of Tebow or excellent Assistants who are no longer with the program (isn't he still the head coach here as well)?

In case you missed the news, Utah is now in the Pac 10...And don't say it was 6 years ago...remember what they did to 'Bama the year before they won it all.

Gawd, it makes me nauseous having to supporting him but the truth is what it is...

Recruiting and coaching are the keys. UF has some square pegs in round holes so it's time address those issues. IMO Meyer made a few bad choices in hiring last season and has some dead weight to drop. I hope he doesn't allow this to become FSU or UGA by keeping people around because of loyalty.

I think Meyer and the Brantley's gave it their best shot but IMO saturday was it for him. He'll either transfer to JU(Kerwin Bell) or hold the clip board next season. If he was a leader more people would be behind him but the kid has never tried to lead this team. Tebow tried for three season to bring it out of him but he just doesn't have that fire...even Chris Leak had passion.

Barking up the wrong tree with this one. See my comments about Fulmer with and without his clutch OC and recruiting guru. Production on the field and wins/losses are night and day. HC are only as good as their assistants and recruiters.

I think you are giving CUM entirely too much credit, just like alot of the Fulmerites did around here for his last couple of seasons.

I get the impression from him that he won't do that. As a matter of fact, I would think he'd second-guess himself for returning before I'd expect him to be blindly loyal when the right pieces aren't in place.

Do you feel otherwise?

Vols can get some payback for losing recruits after Kiffin turmoil set in last January. Here are guys who had an interest in UT but committed to programs now in shambles (relative to when they committed):

TEXAS

Qandre Diggs DB 4-star

FLORIDA

JuJuan Story WR 4-star
AC Leonard ATH 4-star
Mike Blakely RB 4-star
D'Ante Saunders ATH 4-star
Javares McRoy WR 4-star
Clay Burton DE 4-star

USC

Victor Blackwell WR 4-star

MIAMI

Anthony Chickillo DE 4-star
Marcus Jackson OL 4-star
Teddy Bridgewater QB 4-star

MICHIGAN

Dallas Crawford DB 4-star
Justice Hayes RB 4-star

Maybe Miami's.But none of the others.Mack Brown has 1 bad year.I don't see any of theirs switching.
