Florida vs Auburn

I was acutally addressing your prognostication on the UT/LSU matchup. I want no part of Florida again this year. You've won and have bragging rights. In fact, I would not be upset if Florida wins out or only loses one game for the rest of the season. For recruiting purposes I have my mind on the BCS because the idea of playing Auburn or LSU on a neutral field scares the crap out of me.

Surely you're not saying that with a straight face. That is by far the biggest JOKE you have ever made on this board. You guys may lose to UGA.

Totally straight face. Florida was the much better football team versus UT that day. Florida was only the slightest bit better versus LSU last weekend.

just wondering do you feel ok? are you going to suddenly fall out in a fit of reality? oh thats right your just a cocky florida fan auburn will take care of that saturday then you still got to play UGA and w/ your offense you will lose 1 of the 2 if not both.

We might lose to Auburn. We might even lose to UGA, though I think that much less likekly than losing to Auburn. We could conceivably lose to South Carolina or even to FSU.

My original points was that those asking for another shot for UT at Florida have got to realize and admit that Florida was really a lot better than UT that day. No shame in that. Doesn't mean you aren't good or that you aren't getting better or that you won't do well this year. Just means that Florida that day was a better team.

I guess the real measuring stick of how much TN has improved since the florida game will be our records against common opponents. We look forward to LSU and we will see how you do against Georgia. I figure you guys should beat Georgia..lets see.. world's greatest coach..worlds greatest QBs,...world's greatest defense...it should be 70 to 0.

On that we agree. In terms of BCS, you have got to root for Florida now because odds are that you aren't going to win the SECE whereas if Florida and UT continue to win, your one point loss to Florida looks better and better and better.

And thanks for the observation about bragging rights. That was sort of my point. Cannot understand people coming on here claiming that UT "should have" won that game. no thjey shouldn't. They got beat and were lucky it was as close as it was.

Someone just said, in fact, that Ainge had a bad day and what if, what if, what if. Well, maybe Leak didn't have as good a game as he has potential for, either. So what? If everyone played exactly to their potential the game would be totally predictable.

I like the measuring stick we have right now, which is Florida by one.

We did get beat, and Florida deserves credit, but forgive people if they don't forget that we were 1 first down away from a game winning FG attempt. No matter how the game "went", you and I know that the scoreboard is all that matters and it indicated that the game was as tight as it gets.

Props on a big win . . . now quit telling us how great it was. :p

In the back of my mind I also fear that UT has that one game that they simply do not show up to play. Maybe I'm crazy, but UF may have one in the hopper as well.

Okay, okay. From your perspective now I can see that there would be some what ifs thrown out there. I guess my problem isn't so much that people are asking what if, as much as people sayng that UT actually "should have" won, as though they deserved to. That's the part that bothered me about some of the comments in the thread a few back.

One? My friend, you have not been watching Florida football for long, have you? We are totally capable of losing three from here. Not likely. But don't underestimate our ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Its what being a Gator is all about.

I really enjoy your posts Lawgator. It is nice to know that Florida fans are logical in their thinking.

Where do you get so much time to spend on a Vol message board? Are there not Gator boards that could use your insight?

Lawgator= UT's daily dose of reality. For me up to this point in the season, seeing UT and Florida back on top in the SEC east, I feel as though the lights are back on in the cosmos and all is right with the world.

In the bigger picture, this is a nice discussion/smack talk to be having, isn't it?

I agree. Even if we are looking up at Florida, it's at least nice for Georgia to be back where they belong if only temporarily.

GA, I may be getting the big head, but Georgia has lost the pep in their step over the last few years. Their defense was not nearly as physical as the D they have played earlier this decade. It is entirely possible, that when Greene missed in his senior season, that they missed the boat on their BCS run. Only time will tell.

I have been critical of CPF, and still think last season was unacceptable, but Cut made that GA coaching staff look like the Johnny come lately flavor of the month.

Considering this is a rebuilding year for UT's defense when Chavis and Cutcliffe get on the same page...DOMINATION.

That is what really has the Volnation euphoric. On paper this team is not as talented all around as Florida or Georgia yet they had an opportunity to beat Florida, and could have easily beaten UGA worse than they did. UT looks as though it is finally being coached up, and the SEC east should take notice.

"That day" being the key words is correct.I will agree with that.
