Florida vs Auburn

Totally different and in fact quite the opposite. LSU played Florida much closer than did UT. Just as Florida got a lot of breaks to prevail this past Saturday, UT caught a lot to make it as close versus Florida as it was.

Right now, I have to tell you that I think LSU beats you pretty handily.

I want some of what you're smokin Gator boy, we had -11 yrds rushing and yet only lost by 1 pt. LSU fumbled away the game (unforced fumbles I might add) . I hope you are not a defense attorney because your case is weak at best.

im pretty sure the LSU game will be close, but will lean in our favor...if we can improve on punt/kickoff coverage....we can beat the Tigers

I see the early odds have Auburn by 1 1/2 over UF. I'm a little surprised.....Auburn offense is just not that good. Cox is not throwing well and Ark showed everyone how to stop Irons.

CBS Sportsline Experts (hehehe) like Auburn 4 to 1

dont let my thread die yet:cray: ....lol

Ok, no problem.

Realistically, I think Florida needs to play much better offense than we have been playing last two games, to win. I am confident our defense will keep us in it. But to prevail, we need to make some big plays. Leak needs to step it up Saturday.

Leak is now, I feel, drifting. I will certainly not be terribly surprised if the Gators pull the upset, but Chris Leak may very well flounder from this point, weighed down by the 'Elvis has left the building' syndrome; point? After last weekend, Tebow is the Florida QB of choice among Gator fans, no matter what happens from here on out.

And Chris Leak knows it.

Very ironic that Leak was likely removed from serious Heisman consideration by his own teammate...ouch!

I think you are right and you just know that at this point he is really feeling the pressure to perform. I just hope that he plays smart and is accurate and does not turn the urge to get something going into turnovers.

my Leak critique is prob a little tainted by my frustration over the loss to UF; if I were being grudgingly honest, I know Leak still has plenty of potential to lead his team and should not surprise anyone if he rises to the occasion on Saturday, but you'll forgive me if I hope he does not?...

WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE THE AUBURN/FLORIDA THREAD OFF OF THE MAIN UT PAGE!
PUT IT WHERE IT BELONGS!THANKS!:)

I'd really like to see the "WAR EAGLE" prevail but I'm going with the Gators -unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong!

Brandon Cox better step up and play better than he has... and that may be pretty difficult considering the pressure that Florida will inevitably get on him. If Arkansas can get to him, you've gotta believe Florida will.

Think Auburn's defense matches up better with Florida than they do Arkansas. Like 'Hillbilly said, a more balanced attack. Wouldn't surprise me if this turns out to be as low scoring as the LSU/Auburn game, hopefully, of course, with the same winner.

I think this game will not look anything like the UF/LSU nor the ARK/AU game. Arkansas's run game is miles ahead of anyone else's in the SEC, especially Florida's (though UF with Wynn is better than expected). Florida won't be able to pound it as well as the Hogs, and they also don't have a runner like McFadden.

Florida IS better than Arkansas in the passing game by quite a bit, but Auburn's best defensive unit is their secondary. So, that will tell the story right there. If UF has success against David Irons and Wilhite, they will win.

Conversely, UF's defense, IMO, is better than LSU's. Yeah yeah, LSU was touted in the preseason as the best D in the country, or close to it, but Florida's run defense is incredible. Absolutely incredible. Their secondary is solid, but Cox won't be able to test them deep.

This could very well be a 13-10 slugfest/uglyfest.

That is a vast... vast overestimation of how good UF really is.

They have a great front 7 and a good but not great secondary. They have no depth nor consistency in their running game and the passing game hasn't exactly been scary. Don't mistake having the breaks and calls fall your way with great consistency for being greatly better than the teams you've played.

Precisely what break did UT get? Maybe 6 taken off the board by a completely and totally bogus call?

UT lost to UF primarily because they couldn't run. They couldn't run because their center was knocked into the backfield consistently and the wrong back was in the game. Both of those things have been corrected and with Foster back UT has a power back as well. McNeil at center has been a rock.

UGA's front 4/7 who are on par with UF's didn't stop the run and couldn't touch Ainge.

As for the rest of UT's season, the wheels can always fly off. But if they continue to improve and play with consistency, LSU nor anyone else will beat them.

I don't like it but UF will probably beat Auburn. That's not the game I'd be worried about if I were you though. I'd be worried about UGA. They hadn't played anyone. Now they have. I don't think UF's QBs would've ripped them like Ainge did anyway but especially not now. Richt will make corrections. He'll get his offense on better footing. If the UF players have the attitude you expressed above... they'll take the Dawgs lightly and get their tailed whipped for their trouble.
