Florida will hire Chip Kelly.....

Didn't his pansy a** flag football offense beat the chit out of us?? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Spurrier pretty much own us when he was at UF??
I'll take Chip & his gimmick offense any day!!

Who cares how he did in the NFL?
Nick Saban was horrid in the NFL
Pete Carroll was horrid in the NFL before he got the SC job
Steve Spurrier was horrid in the NFL

Would you have turned any of them down? Secondly, Charlie Weis, really? Weis had never been a HC in his life. Kelly has a rather good resume. Finally, Kelly recruited three consecutive top 15 classes to Oregon. The notion that he isn't a good recruiter is nonsense.

I am getting so sick and tired of people using the NFL as a measuring stick for college and vice versa. Its beyond stupid.

Yes, Uncle Rico football...kind of what Mizzu and TAM does but even worse.
He actually has kind of gotten fire from his last 3 jobs as he wasn't going to be able to coach for oregon, technically 4 jobs as he was appointed general manager more or less in charge of personnel as well for the Eagles.

Win or lose its still flag football though.

Please stop trying to translate NFL outcomes to the NCAA. Just does not work.

As evidence, I would like to show Spurrior and Saben as Exhibit A and B.

Please also remember that he was a FG away from beating Auburn with Cam Newton for the BCS Championship.

He made the playoffs in the NFL with his "scam" offense. Saban never did that. He also would have won a National Championship at Oregon if not for Cam Newton.

The argument is probably moot though as Kelly would likely demand total control of the program (or close to it) and a very high price tag. I doubt our administration would agree to either one.

It's pretty well known that he dislikes the extracurriculars associated with being a college football head coach like recruiting and dealing with boosters but the guy knows football. He's had success at the top 2 levels of the sport. If you can't see that, I can't help you. Someone like Texas A&M or UCLA will shell out the money and hire him and he will likely win at whichever school gets him. If A&M hires him, I'd be willing to bet he would win the West within 5 years. I'd also be willing to bet he bolts for the NFL again the moment he's offered a decent opportunity.

and once again leaving UT the laughing stock of college football. Florida will not allow this crap to continue and they are crap. UT literally lost to crap.

Do it now. Fire Butch and get Kelly here.....

Good, let him fail there instead of here.

I don't think he's elite by any means but there's a decent chance he would dominate the east with fla speed and tons of HS teams have quarterbacks perfect for his system in fla/ga

Plus he had quite a few guys on defense either coached or recruited by him that went fairly high on DL If not distracted

He plays Uncle Rico football, he could win games in the college world - I have never said otherwise. I think he would win more with that type of Uncle Rico football out West - far West. Good luck and all, especially in the SECW. He's a real good flag football coach.

Truth.

I would say most teams play that kind of Ball these days.

Its starting to seem like that, they beat each other up - eventually end up playing Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, etc. get their clock rang. In my eyes, you have to have power rushing game at some point. You can get away with it for awhile but at some point you need that power game to come through. imo What's the difference between Auburn now vs. 2010 - Cam Newton being the power rusher. Oregon was just on another level of Uncle Rico football - I usually had to just turn them off. Horrible football.

It'll be more because of the rule changes.

The Rumors I've heard say that Florida is taking a hard look at Mullins. Mullins could have been at florida earlier but had some kind of falling out with a coordinator there. Chip Kelly will not be hired by anyone. He's a goof.

Probably cuz the new AD stricklin came from miss st so people just out 2 and 2 together

Wouldn't be the worst hire tho he at least can run a functional offense and has made some solid defensive coordinator hires like Geoff Collins and Manny Diaz
