He got suspended from riding with the team on the bus, instead he has to ride in the little bathroom stall in the back of the bus.

From the Gainesville Sun:
Junior defensive end Carlos Dunlap, 20, was arrested at 3:25 a.m. by Gainesville Police Officer Robert Rogers at the signal light at Southwest Second Avenue and Southwest 34th Street.

According to police, Rogers was dispatched to the area to check out reports of a reckless driver in a Chrysler. Rogers said that when he found the car matching the description, it was stopped although the traffic light was green. Rogers said he watched the light cycle through several times but the car remained stopped.

When Rogers approached the car, he said he saw Rogers alone in the car and apparently asleep while at the wheel.

"The front windows of the defendant's (Dunlap's) vehicle were cracked slightly and officers on the scene were unable to wake the defendant," Rogers wrote in the arrest report. "Loud repetitive commands were given to the defendant who would only open his eyes momentarily and nod back off."

Rogers said he reached in through the slightly opened window to unlock the car and noticed that it was still in gear. After shifting the car into park and turning off the ignition, Rogers and other said they noticed that Dunlap's breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were watery and bloodshot, that he had trouble maintaining his balance and did poorly on field sobriety tests.

Dunlap reportedly refused to submit to a breath test and told Rogers and other officers that he had been at "a gathering" and was headed home.

Dunlap was booked into the Alachua County jail on the DUI charge, but apparently witnessess said he was last seen in the exclusive community of Isleworth, drinking with his buddy Tiger Woods.

Meyer has announced that Dunlap will be suspended for the pre-game coin toss but rejoin the team afterwards

Dunlap will make the announcement afterwards he doesn't want to be a distraction and suspend himself for the kickoff, too.

Well, from a Gator's view, I hope he is done for the season.

It was a stupid, irresponsible thing to do. Five days before the biggest game of the year, and he decides to get wasted. Way to think about your teammates and coaches, Carlos!

I say cut him loose now so we have fewer distractions. The game was going to be tough to begin with, he just made it a lot harder for the team.

And for all the Gators who were over here flapping your gums when the UT guys got busted, just remember what goes around comes around. Every college program has people who do stupid things. Gloating about it always comes back to bite you.

I'm sure Bama is dancing in the streets this morning.

Don't want to see any kid do stuff like this.

Whether it's a UT or a UF player.

Get drunk all you want, but don't get behind a damn wheel.

This just in....
Urbie lays down the law to Dunlap stating that Dunlap MUST obey his daily nap time and though some think it too severe Urbie has also ordered Dunlap to wear a "Just Say No" shirt during all naps.

I applaud your reasoning :clapping:

But you realize that visitors to this board rarely display common sense right? That puts you in rare company. For evidence of the norm, please view anything from the Kentucky week.

A gator poster on here with some sense, posting with some reason and logic, this is a new concept that will take some time for me to get used to.

If he was born on February 28, 1989, wouldn't this also make him underage?

In calculus wasn't that called the second order of magnitude or something like that? In other words.. something that could (will) be ignored.. At least in CUM's eyes.

from what i've gathered on the gator boards, we all expect his gator career to be finished.

personally, i agree. stupid, dangerous thing to do. not to mention he could have woke anybody up and said "I'm carlos f'in dunlap, I need a ride" and got one.

i can recall a handful of times i was hammered at a party and just took a long ass walk back home. it IS gainesville, after all. a 2 mile walk will get you just about anywhere.

stupid on so many levels.
