Flying in the US

I'll guaran-dang-tee that a killer can shoot two pilots in the back of the head before the other "armed citizens" have a chance to take him down.

Such a naive perspective.

Is it possible to do something crazy, like, put a bulletproof door between the cockpit and passengers? Is the perspective naive, or is it that the other perfectly valid alternatives are ones you would rather not look at?

Not asking to run the world. I am just wondering where the 'you must love everything we do or go somewhere else' attitude comes from.

Who the hell is saying that? I don't agree with everything going on in this country, but I will pick up a gun to see it preserved. Your airplane arguement goes against every security principle. The times have changed, so we must adapt.

Limits freedom of access and that's apparently a no-no.

It is just heartwarming how many 'conservatives' I meet who online who are so respectful of other peoples religious beliefs. I guess Jesus was just a pot smoking hippie who said 'do not resist an evil man' and 'turn the other cheek'. Believe me, I would much rather smack the crap out of someone who offends me, but I obey the will of the Master and not my own.
What in the world does conservatism have to do with respecting your religious beliefs? That's the mantra of the morons ruining conservatism.

Jesus isn't a part of our legal realm nor is he making day to day decisions about airliner security.

You keep on obeying and doing your pacifist thing, just thank goodness that we have COL Jessup on that wall.

That's one of the dumbest posts I've ever read. Why dont you move your ass to other country if you don't like America and your freedoms.

Thank god your not in charge of National security is all I can say.

I don't agree with all the laws that are put in place. I do however believe in this country and what we as a whole stand for. As previously stated, you don't like it here, apply for a visa and move elsewhere. You do have that freedom.

Sometimes people need to die. Somebody has to do it.

Who is saying that? It certainly seemed like you were.

The same reason you should be able to carry a gun on said property.

A private entity decides that I can't go places on its property is an exercise of property rights. The government telling me I can't carry a gun is a violation of my rights. If the airline chose to insist I not bring a gun on its property as a prerequisite to using its property, it would have every right to do so.

No one says you have to share my beliefs. I would rather you did and if you ever want to talk about it I would be more than happy to. However, I am not sure how you can say that conservatives in general, not all, don't talk up religion. You may disagree and wish they wouldn't, but they do.

Some one needs to study up on what his "Master" says about obeying the laws of the land.

The government says you can't carry on said private plane. That's not a violation of your rights. That's protection of everyone else's, which supersedes your action. The government has no obligation to protect you from your own stupidity, but must protect me from your stupidity, even at the expense of some of your precious rights. Similarly, we don't let known pedophiles on elementary school grounds. That's government trampling pedo rights, but it's OK.

I'm just giving you an out. Even suggested that you run for office. You obviously aren't in the security business. Nobody here shares the same view as yourself, coincidence? I think not.

I might share your views, but mingling it in this debate is just lame. Conservatives talking up religion in the conversation regarding the laws of our land are morons. We specifically formed this place to avoid that kind of silliness.

Anyone, anytime, anywhere. It's all in the name of freedom. Unfettered freedom is the meaning of life.

Wow. That's what you get out of that. Really? Maximizing freedom is my political goal. Does that really mean that I don't think anything should be disallowed?

Reminds me of a joke:

A man and wife go on a fishing trip. One morning, the wife leaves her husband asleep and takes the boat on to a quiet spot to read her book. The game warden comes up to her and asks to see her license. She tells him she doesn't have one but that is ok because she is not fishing. He takes out his book and starts to write her a ticket. She ask why. He tells her that she is on the lake and has the equipment in the boat, so she could start at any time. She pulls out her cellphone and starts to dial. He asks her who she is calling. She tells him she is calling the police. He asks why. She tells him that she is reporting a rape. He is startled and ask why she is doing that. She tells him that since he is there with her and has the equipment, he could start at any time.
