Stick a fork in it we are done for a long long time as a program. We may have to shut down the university over this one. I don't really think we have any chance of getting a coach who is worth 50 cents now. At least not one that can recruit to help us to get us back. This is going to be worse than when kiffin left. Go Vols!!! All we can hope for is 6 wins a season now for a long time.

No guys... the OP has a point. Hyams is never wrong and would NEVER put out false information recklessly. Plus EVERYONE knows that Gruden alone is a good enough coach and recruiter to take the UT from where it is to relevance within 15 years. Just incredible wisdom and insight being displayed in that OP.:rolleyes:

The sky is falling overreactions on this board in the last several hours are hilarious.

Gruden is NOT the only coach that can win in Knoxville. Hell, no one knows for sure if Gruden would have won!!!

you people don't realize that football funds this university without it, nothing goes on at ut other than the guys that look at dead bodies across the river cause they love it. now we must settle for a none tennessee ties head coach again. i am still a vol fan always will be but losing out on a saban like hire doesn't make me very hopeful we can return to being a national power again.

dude your an idiot, there plenty of good coaches out there, so we didnt get Gruden, I think we will be better off!!! You think UCLA or Penn State thought the same thing when they hired those guys, seems to have worked out pretty well, just chill and let it fall into place, we cant be any worse than the last three years

I was hoping Gruden would be the next head coach but he is not the only coach in America that can win at UT. He is the big splash but him not coming DOES NOT mean TN is doomed
