The problem is the equation doesn't just involve players. There is a huge support staff involved in football operations (see below).

From trainers to doctors, these folks would be obligated to do their jobs if we have a season. There ain't no social distancing when a kid's injured on the field and doctors, trainers and coaches are right up in their bubbles. Ditto referees.

One kid on the field or one support staff gets the virus, it'll spread like wildfire with such a close-contact sport.

I think the issue with college football is that the players cannot be placed in a "bubble city" like they have done with the NBA and NHL (to my knowledge, neither league has reported a case). We've already seen what has happened with MLB where they are not in a "bubble" - 27 games already postponed due to Covid. There would be hell-to-pay if there was an outbreak on a college team or, god forbid, a fatality. It would look even worse from a PR standpoint if they had the players sign waivers agreeing not to sue.

Yet the schools are bringing students back on to campuses across the country. Look up the age demographics on Covid..... ... college kids get Covid... they have a headache and are fine the next day. It’s crazy
