we have been getting "the right players" for the past 3 rebuilds.. we have all seen how that is working out.

Michigan is a frozen tundra. Will be hard for them to pull in 4 and 5 stars consistently. KY and OM don't have the tradition and will never consistently pull 4 and 5 stars.

That doesn't work out for college championships because a team full of lower ranked players is too watered down. It's that simple.

LOL... have you ever been to Michigan? It is definitely colder than TN... but it isn't the Arctic.

Please reread what I said. I didn't say that Elite talent is not needed to win championship. I just said there are only so many each year that meet this and that many 4 star kidd and high 3 star kids not much difference at all and sometimes good talent doesn't get evaluated by service at all so having coaches recognize talent at there on camps and offer you trust. Again 60 plus kids each year that are head and shoulders above other recruits you definitely need to win championship.

There are kids who obviously think Michigan is too cold... and who think UT is too cold.

I was kind of exaggerating here obviously, but it's not a stretch to say that it is damn cold up there in the winter, the northern half of Michigan is considered taiga (sub arctic region)...only place in the lower 48 like that, and that summers are short.

The UP is kind of a world unto itself both environment and people. But UofM is only about 50 miles closer to Marquette than Knoxville. It is also far enough away from the lakes to avoid lake effect snow.

I'm not plugging for them but the weather won't be that much more of an obstacle for a FL kid there than UT.

Summer comes later but it is milder and the days are longer.

Yes and for every coach since Butch, the vocal minority hollers "Coach knows how to find the hidden gems (underrated players)"......."I trust coach's evaluation more
than the scouting reports and the 'experts'"..... "our new Coach _________ knows how to coach'em up", blah, blah, blah.

I enjoy reading about all the new recruits, etc. but will hold the Super Booms until I see results on the field.

If we get 9-3 or 10-2 this year, then we have found our 6-8 year coach. The schedule is calling for minimum 8 wins, anything less is disappointing. 7 wins is not progress regardless of
how exciting the offense may be. JMO
