Bullballs Slicey. You smoked the most solid of them. Hook - line - and skunk.

I was calling for Strong to be hired. We missed on the guy I wanted. I reported what I heard and haven't backed down or hidden from anyone.
If you think a limp azz weak mind like your dump azz can back me down.....well, you're dumber than I thought.

As soon as Jones loses his first game, the same goobers will be calling for his head, and that Skeeter goobernut will come on here saying Gruden is a done deal.

For the record I dont think skeeter ever said Gruden was a done deal.

But yes, it's time for everyone to move on.

A few guys on here wanted to seem important and spread a bunch of rumors to get the attention they so desperately desire. "Hey, look at me! I'm an insider! I know all the rich guys!" I wish they would come back to cuss me out again. That was fun for a few weeks.

FIRST>>>NO ONE on this board wanted Gruden more than I... I was all in and if he wanted to come here to coach I would be all in again.... but HE DIDN'T and I ain't

SECOND>>> I still post with most of the old posters from the Gruden thread, they are my friends, and I CAN TELL YOU we have moved on... I may not be totally sold on CBJ, but so far I like what he has done and that is basically what most the old grudenites believe

THRID>>> I have NO IDEA what you are referring to as no one in our thread even brings it up

FOURTH>>> The only people I every hear any complaints about it comes from people like the OP and others in the FF... and those complaints are saying we believe things that we do not

LAST>>> I was all in for Gruden, and would still be... however that is not going to happen. I do not know if CBJ will succeed against the likes of Saban some of the elite of the SEC, but we will soon all know... so why don't we just give it a BREAK and all just be Vol fans

Awesome post!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I would add is just because Gruden didn't come here doesn't mean we would like to see CBJ fail.

Let it go. The man used UT as a bargaining chip the last couple of times; not to mention the fact he let rumors of this latest go around go on for weeks before stating his interests.

The man is a better analyst than coach. He was mediocre in the NFL sans a couple of years. While he did build the Raiders and coach a Dungy built Tampa Bay team in the SB; he did nothing much after that.

He would have been a rock star by name and Knoxville would be more of a media circus than a football haven.
Nobody really knows if he would have had true success in the SEC.

I think that Butch Jones may be an inside the park home run hire. You dont have to be a flashy name (see Phil Fulmer in 92) to win championships. I say give the guy a chance and see how he does in year 2/3 before we run him out of town.

I am in no way stating Butch Jones should be given the keys to Knoxville, but at least give him praise for his enthusiasm. His energy level seems to be leaps and bounds from what Dooley portrayed.

Nice try on selling something. I like Butch Jones and what he has done so far, but he will have a time selling the fan base and recruits. Do you think any of the recruits would have to look up Jon Gruden on Wikipedia fo find out who he is? Alvin Kamara said that if Gruden was the coach he knew where he was going. And I find it difficult to trash Gruden's coaching ability when you compare what he accomplished in the NFL to Saban's results.

Gruden didn't want the job. Time to move on.

U done washing all the washcloths from the Gruden love fest??? Now it's time to wash all that gunk out of your hair and off your computer screen and keyboard.

Dooley is not coming back. I appreciate the sycophant take on the Dooley hygiene. Probably be able to avoid a staph infection now.

in a few years, if butch jones doesn't work out, the gruden to UT rumors will start up again, with some "insider" claiming he knows someone who has "talked to" gruden and that he is "really interested" this time.

If you want to have some fun go to search and do an advanced search for "jon gruden" and sort results in ascending order. In 2005 people were saying the exact same thing about JG as in our recent coaching search.
