For Those Who Wish We Hired Urban Meyer

Ask any woman in your life if she's okay with ANY man doing that in a public bar. What do you think?

I dare you. Ask any woman in your life if she'd be okay with a non-spouse or significant other doing that in public.

Tell me your opinion of any woman who says "I don't see a problem there is he's a virtual stranger to me....."

I've personally seen several women welcome that very thing. When I was in college (about 12 years ago), I even had a handsy young lady I later hooked up with grabbing my own crotch at a bar. I get the feeling you don't actually hang around bars very much. This sort of thing happens pretty frequently at bars between two consenting parties, particularly when alcohol is involved. TBH, this is pretty PG-13 from the things I saw in college.

I mean she was grinding on his crouch for goodness sake, so it seems like she was pretty welcoming to it. If she comes forward with a different story, maybe I'll change my opinion.

As far as my opinion of any woman who doesn't have a problem with a stranger doing that to her, I really don't have an opinion on this type of woman. If she likes to have loose morals in her sex life, that's her business. I try not to judge, particularly since I'm a guy and when I was single and bar hopping, I would have welcomed that behavior from a girl I thought was hot.

The OP's title is misleading. His name may have been thrown around by a few during the coaching search but he was not a popular choice and Urban Meyer was never going to coach here. He wasn't interested nor was UT.

I've never understood all the attention that stuff like this gets. Got a text from a friend saying this confirms how fake Urban really is, saying you can't act "holier than thou" then make mistakes like this. I disagree. You can fault the man for being stupid in this instance but you can't use this to smear his efforts to be a positive influence... that's just dumb. None of us are perfect. Some of us just don't live in a fish bowl.

I ain't misleading as your own post testifies.

You: "His name may have been thrown around by a few during the coaching search..."
My: Title: "For those who wish we hired Urban Meyer."

I didn't say everybody, or almost everybody, but addressed to those who did throw his name around. This being VN, I subsumed to the VN tradition of throwing shade at an enemy of VN people. Surely, you know we're so twisted that even Chubby Checker avoids us. Twizzlers red licorice and YumEarth Organic black licorice purposely slide behind the display case to hide from VN'ers. Hemp rope and steel cable unravel on seeing us approach. See? Even the twisted know we're more twisted than twisting itself.

jags are "in discussion" with Urban rn. Looks like he might be gone. The heat is turned on high anyway. I can tell you for a FACT he will not get the USC job because there is a lady in charge that is very concerned about him...going way back to smith situation.

just heard wild speculation on espn cleveland that the NFL wants to move the whole team.

if they can fire with cause, it might start talks.

When you continually get caught trotting out one explanation (as he did when his WR’s coach violated a restraining order) and then a different account become publicly available? You’re correctly branded shady and dishonest. Not very “positive”. Everybody’s capable of a slip up…he’s a practitioner. Own the truth or Belichick it and there’s no issue.

Well, that woman was only one person, and she obviously liked it a lot.

He knew they had a franchise QB coming. Otherwise he’d never touched it. Lawrence looks pretty good. Now get players around him. Jack has a lot of cap money for free agents.

Nobody in the division is special. Titans are the best & they got massive OL & def problems.

Glad we have someone here who personally knows him and gets info directly from Urban himself. This is awesome.

I'm curious, how does he like his eggs?

What's his favorite color?

What's his favorite past time activities?

Curious.

We never had a shot at hiring Meyer. Had he shown interest in the job, we would have hired him in a heartbeat. These reactionary threads are one of the many reasons why our fan base has become a joke around the country

Urbie - I would have hated the hire, because I distrust him. Same thing with the Kif, I like him as a coach, but don't trust him.

Reactionary - I can't argue against that, as it holds too much truth.

Creepy old married men remain creepy whether I like their coaching or politics.

The younger women who allow such remain creepy also.

There's a BIG difference between young kids in a bar playing grab ass in a bar and a married guy with a daughter older than the woman he's playing grab ass with.

Creepy and low class remains creepy and low class.

It is interesting, in a somewhat depressing way, that this thread is pretty evenly divided into two camps. On one side are folks saying, "what? he didn't do anything wrong" and on the other side are folks surprised that the first group don't get it.

The Age of Reason supplanted the age of religion and tradition. Science became our new god, shoving Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hindu and other values-based faith systems out the door. We called it Modernism.

And Nietzsche mourned. He saw before most where all this was headed. God was dead.

We're certainly there now, in an age without common values, without common virtue. Where a lot of folks shrug their shoulders and say, "what?"

Sorry to drop a meta-tier or two into philosophy. It is just exceptional how exposed those meta-levels of our society are here.

So you think Urban takes that job if the consensus #1 pick was a left tackle or cover corner. Or if Jax had the 4th pick?

Yeah, Urban has a habit of taking perennial cellar dwellers and rebuilding them.

This is news because the Jags suck and Urban is showing that he may just be in way over his head in the NFL. He doesn't have the trust of his players or control of the locker room. If they were winning no one would care.

As for him "stepping outside his marriage," when are we going to realize that almost every head coach, NFL or otherwise, is probably an egotistical, slimy shithead? This should come as no surprise.
