Postseason OSU chokes or dominates, there is no in between. I’m still not over the Ruggles wounded duck kick last year. The one time I root for them and all they do is ruin New Years.I believe with a 12 team playoff than we get to play the other conferences best. Michigan would be easier to beat than Bama. Usc is good but I would love to play them at Neyland. Fsu even at at a neutral
Site would be an easy win. And Ohio st usually chokes
Playoff committee ignores the Rutgers first half. Just because Ohio st struggled the first 3 quarters means nothing. They clearly are #1. Michigan and ga beating them last year should not matter, anyone who knows college football is about this yearPostseason OSU chokes or dominates, there is no in between. I’m not saying anything about OSU’s ranking, just responding to a comment about their history of choking postseason. I’m not one of the “UGA should be #1 until Kirby’s bowl cut goes gray” crowd.Playoff committee ignores the Rutgers first half. Just because Ohio st struggled the first 3 quarters means nothing. When the cfp does the right thing and eliminate ga from the playoffs, even if they beat Bama in the sec championship we could get the 4 spot.I’m not saying anything about OSU’s ranking, just responding to a comment about their history of choking postseason. Last season the Vols faded down the stretch with the South Carolina blowout loss and earlier loss to a great Georgia team. Hooker went down and high hopes imploded. In 2023, injuries occurred early and inconsistent offense and the 2 road losses to arch-rivals dampened the season.
If anyone looks at the facts, the 2023 Vols have dramatically improved and are catching two top 15 teams at a perfect time with prime time CBS games.
Missouri is an excellent football team with many weapons. However, they are not a juggernaut at home like one of the SEC Big Boys - and are beat up from the Georgia game. This will be a slugfest but the improving Vols can win in primetime.
While Missouri is better than last year - Georgia is not. They lost a key linebacker yesterday and lost Brock Bowers earlier. After another rugged game vs. Ole Miss - they are set up well for the Vols to blitz them in Neyland. They have a huge monkey on their back with their historic win streak - which carries huge pressure that is due to catch up in 2 weeks. The Tennessee crowd will be at Alabama decibel levels and Georgia is simply overdue for a stinker ballgame.
The Connecticut game was better for the Vols than an open date as nicked up players rested and the whole squad got to participate. The win over Kentucky gave road game confidence and Missouri will be frothing at the mouth for revenge for the Heupel recent beatdowns. They are talking on their message boards about revenge over the "Fat Man." Well Kentucky was jacked up also and rested after an open date while Missouri has key players like Burden nicked up. That was a night game in Lexington which is a tougher atmosphere than Columbia, Missouri.
Josh will unleash a prime time attack on Drinkwuss and have the Vols ranked 9th heading into a matchup that will knock the Georgia Dogs - defending 2 time national champions out of the playoffs.
Yes the Tenn-see Vols are vastly improved and are ready to kickass and take names in the SEC East.
How ironic. Me too.
Ironically, I dont think that's ironic.
