I'll go first: the debt we owe as sinners has no earthly terms. As we serve a perfect and holy God, we have nothing to offer, because we will always be imperfect and sinful. Hence, only a perfect and sin-less Christ was able to forgive us.

The monetary debt of a loan has a very objective reprieve: pay it back with money. It's not that complicated. Same with a house note, car financing, etc.

It does, but sadly people a lot of parents out there trust teachers and guidance counselors to provide good advice and just go along with their suggestion. City and county school administrations for years pushed the every kid goes to college mantra. The easiest way for them to do that was push student loans. It made it sound easy and convenient. Parents aren't paying. Kid goes to college and gets a degree in something hopefully. Everyone wins!!! Except they left out the part about several thousand in debt. Oh, and they weren't given good guidance on what to major in either. Cultural studies? Philosophy? 13th century dead poets? Sure, student loans. No way that will get you a good job to be able to pay them back. School admin didn't care about that part. They just wanted kids in college.

In our area (Knox Co) many of the schools are starting to steer kids towards Pellissippi, trade school just as much as colleges. The old cookie cutter approach of you have to go to college to be successful does not work any longer with rise of cost and trades offering high wages/careers faster. Married to a teacher I know all to well about parents putting the raising of children onto the teachers, not all but a good portion.

The government is the primary lender - the government is forgiving loans it made; not loans it guaranteed to banks. I'm not sure how they would even do that unless they purchased the loan from a bank.

I didn’t know that. I always thought it was government backed loans from private lenders.

I am wondering if this is the plan. They go through, promise the moon. Take steps to deliver the moon, knowing full well they actually cant. Then they let the Republicans shut them down, or let it go to the Supreme Court, to make them the bad guys. They force the Rs or SC to shut them down, so they can enact further changes they want now that they have demonized those others even more.

Splitting hairs but I see a difference. This is an outright open attempt to purchase the vote of a particular demographic. This a $10,000 check to say make the effort to show up at the voting booth, not just say you now like me if someone calls you to say you support me in a poll.

There is no issue except that the Feds are involved in education. They need to gtfo. That is the issue to resolve.
