Forgive Student Loans?

Oh okay, as long as it's just me doing the leeching.

Not true. I said the issue needs to be addressed with a bi-partisan effort.
The fix has been said. That's to get the federal gov out. I've seen zero Democrats with that take. It all ends at cancelling debt.

There's a reason for that. Leverage.

That goes for the republicans that stop there too.

Odd how none of the folks that are defending this stupid policy are upset that the core issue isn't even being addressed to avoid it in the first place.
It's never been about fixing the problem. It's always about power. As long as they can use the problem to justify giving themselves more power it wont be solved.

I'll bite. I'm fine with it and I, at the same time, think there is more that can be done. Happy? Reminds me of the PPP loans. Reactionary, unfocused yet better than doing nothing.

So, pretend I'm stupid but is this a bill Democrats are putting forth? Or is this some kind of executive action he's invoking. I haven't read anywhere how he is planning on accomplishing this. I know the delay in payments is immediate.

Would have been a better option to go with fields that move the country forward. Teachers, engineers, medical, scientist, logistics, technology. Future Starbucks of America employees need not apply. But I'm sure there is discrimination to Russian Literature and women's studies.

No, disagree. No one needs this. Absolutely no one. It is utter BS.

It's not better than doing nothing.

It's printing new money causing more inflation, making others pay for loans they didn't take out and enhancing the problem.

If it's bad for the people that took out the loans to pay it back, it's that much worse for people who didn't take out the loans to pay it back.

You being "fine with it" proves my point.

Point is it would have played better in the spin. Frame it as an investment into those that will change the infrastructure/technology and call more into those fields. Didn't say I agreed with it, just giving an example of how this could have been used with certain professional fields.

I'm starting to wonder if this plan might actually backfire. You've pissed off a lot of people who a)paid off their loans, b)don't think taxpayers should further subsidize these choices (especially those that didn't attend college) and c) think $10k isn't enough. You may have just encouraged the wrong group of people to get out and vote in November.
