Former Coach Pearl serves BBQ for Lost Sheep Ministry

Can't speak for him, but I actually am convinced now that it wasn't PR at all. I spoke from ignorance earlier after reading some other poster's experiences with his charity work. I was wrong in how I perceived it and after thinking about it, it really doesn't matter what his motives are if people were helped.

Exactly.

Glad Pearl gave his time to help those in need. I still don't see how this excuses his actions at UT or in anyway justifies the idea we should have let him remain coach. When Pearl lied to the NCAA, he knew the risks he was taking. I'm sorry, I don't have a problem with someone facing the consequences of their actions when they knew full well what they were doing. He played Russian roulette with the NCAA and lost.

It was a good run. I'll remember the good times fondly and I'll appreciate the success Pearl brought to UT. But he brought about his own downfall and hurt UT in the process. There is no excuse. There is no reasoning it out. Stop crying about fair and what other coaches get away with as it has no bearing whatsoever on what happened to Pearl. Accept that he did this to himself and stop blaming everyone else.

I'm sorry but I don't get what your rant on what Pearl did as a coach at UT has to do with this particular humanitarian effort.

:eek:hmy:
This is pure marketing.
His image is shot and he's mad at Hamilton.
So he does that, the fan base sighs and wishes he hadn't been fired, then the fan base turns on UT's Administration and support for Coach Zo is minimal.
Go away Bruce! Enjoyed while you were here but go away now!

Oh god please ****

I saw a Ham at Kroger before Christmas that had an AD that said "Great for Hanukkah."

It's the same reason they had Joe Camel on cigarettes, you're not supposed to but that darn marketing tricks you into thinking it's ok.
