I understand your frustration, some times you have to upgrade your staff every chance you get.. maybe we will in about 4 seasons ,lol
Lulz, trust me, my frustration with Kiffin and Ogre ended a long time ago. And what you see as an upgrade, I see as a poor business move. Kiffin and Ogre have been in the middle of more than one NCAA investigation. A successful program like Bama has no need to take that risk. Win or lose, I'd rather have CBJ and staff over Kiffin and his crew. I feel safer with that bunch out of Knoxville.
And FTR, I really don't get the "better recruiters" arguement with where our current recruiting class sits.
I don't think that's true. Lane was a thorn in Urban's side with the hasty remarks he made. He didn't go after Saban much if at all. Indeed stated Fla had the better players but Bama had the better coaches.
The Lane-Orgeron team will be a recruiting nightmare for SEC coaches seeking quality players, I doubt not. As position coaches they're darn good. Saban will control the loose cannon tendencies of these two, count on it.
I think what actually happened was Saban being smart as he is, realized that CBJ and Company are a heck of recruiting team. That it was only a matter of time before Tennessee returnd with a vengeance if they didn't watch out. So he's rolling the dice and getting these two characteristically questionable but otherwise very effective dynamos. It's a bold move that will either maintain the perennial power of Bama or blow up in its face. With Saban holding tight reigns to his wild horses, it will more likely maintain Bama's power.
On the other hand, if Butch Incorporated proves to be so successful in recruiting that not even Saban's wild horse can't dilute the effect, it's going to be mainly a Bama-Tenn. taking turns being the SEC champ thing.
You're kidding yourself if you don't think Bama cheats or any major successful D1 program for that matter. Their compliance office and AD are better at covering tracks than ours. Wish our compliance office and AD were less willing to roll over for the NCAA.
Slam them if it makes you feel better but there is nothing good about these developments for the Vols.
Both of these a holes can recruit and coach.
No but I lost all respect for him with this because I thought he would look for integrity and class first and he is not getting either with these hires.
No one is debating that, those world class sleaze bags have a"checkered" past. You can bet 'LIL lame was all over himself apologizing to "LIL nicky for all the bad things he said about bammer while at UT. So the douche is a hypocrite too.
You guys crack me up. Do you think Saban is going to let these guys run around like buffoons and cheat under him? Kiffin and Ed can recruit as good as anyone in the country. Ed is widely known as one of the best D-line coaches in country, and Kiffin can develop QBs and call a decent offensive game. If Bama couldn't already get any player they wanted, they sure will be able to now. This isn't going to tank Bama, this will put them back on top. Saban saw a change was needed, and Kiffin and Ed will give Bama top recruiters who are very good as position coaches/coordinators.
Yaw yaw yaw yaaaww yawwwww not Bama

Saw reports saying that Ed Orgeron is expected to join #Bama staff.. I am pretty sure that's NOT gonna happen. Never was.https://twitter.com/BFeldmanCBS/status/422714282225061889
