I stopped reading at 69 scholarship players.

What would make anyone believe there are only 69 scholarship players on the roster?

How do you not look at that....stop....and go.... wait a minute, that doesn't sound right?

He only wants 69 cause that is what he does to aquatics....:birgits_giggle:

Figured he meant 69 players scheduled to return next season on scholarships as of right now because of how young the team is now. Basically Leaving enough room to only sign 16 guys in the next recruiting class. Then him making the point of your current roster not being nearly as talented as it has been, only being able to add 16 guys of this good class Mcelwain is recruiting would ultimately limit its impact. That's what I got from it.

I didn't have time to look it up. I was too busy quote mining Mcelwain. I'm enjoying his dooly-ishness comments he makes. I'm waiting to hear about the Germans and d-day and binoculars....

The more I read about Jim Mcelwain....the more I feel like he might be Floridas version of Dooley....

If Dooley became the first coach in the history of the SEC to win back-to-back division titles in his first two years, he'd still be your coach.

Get 'em while you can. Ranked pretty high in recruiting this year. UT is ranked 6 and UF 8 at this moment.

It helps their depth. If injuries, dope tests, or arrests force them to rely on Trask, they'll be in big, big trouble.

Trask would be the 4th option. I think UF feels good about their QB position when their 3rd string "emergency" QB would be a healthy Luke Del Rio.

I think Franks will be the starter, Zaire will be a change-up guy running tons of stuff in the red zone.

Before you say "two QB's never work" to a Florida fan, remember who you're taking to. National title in 06 with Leak/Tebow, Spurrier did it constantly, particularly "the greatest game ever played in the Swamp" when Doug Johnson and Noah Brindise alternated plays for the entire game and beat #1 ranked FSU.

Florida's offense will be outstanding this year.

I wouldn't say he won it. Haha. More like, just didn't suck as much as the rest of the east did twice in a row.

He sucked the L-East.

I think UT fans will look back years from now and shake their heads at how in the word UT went 1-5 against UF in the 4 years of Muschamp and first two years of Mac. Between the loaded offense this year and the recruiting catching fire at Florida, the window has closed and UF is about to go on another tear in the SEC.

Remember, Florida was the last team to reign in the SEC before this recent Bama domination and Florida will be the team to dethrone them. It's coming.

That's a cute little mantra to make you feel better, but he won it. If Tennessee had won the East the last two years, you wouldn't be talking about "we just didn't suck as much as everyone else." You'd be proud of your team and coach for winning titles.

I'm sure you can gather this on your own, but unless we win 24 1/2 Natty's in a row, some of these people will still complain.

Justttt as soon as Mcelwain figures out who his year 3 starting QB is...

As much as we hear about "YEAR 5" with Butch around here, I think it's only fair that Mcelwain catches the proper amount of sh*t for not having a QB at least favored, going into his 3rd season. And I haven't heard anyone really even bring that up really. How does that go unnoticed?

Muschamp goes to USCjr of alllll places and Recruits and begins to develop a decent QB with Jake Bentley. This is Will Muffcramp we are talking about...and he is out developing a QB compared to Mcelwain....Will Muffcramp knows exactly who his #1 and #2 QB is going to be. So does Butch. What's Mcelwain been doing for 2 years now? Dying his teeth?

Your cool aid must be good. The thing is that Florida's recent recruiting success is built much on the stars of skill position players. They've gotten a few big uglies here and there but a lot of the fire power going forward is not rooted there. We've seen how that methodology pays off here at UT before. Conversely I wouldn't trade our linemen classes of late for anybody else's. Hoping recent coaching changes will help evolve the talent even further

They have 85 scholarships...by the way.

No. We have 69.

They're all terrible. Muschamp was awesome and there is no way that the Florida roster is in better shape now then when Will Muschamp was the head coach at Florida.

Well. I admitted I assumed his numbers were adjusted to after the seniors and draft guys leave after this season.

So how many players do you have on scholarship? And how many are graduating after this season? How many are potential draftees?

I'm as curious as anyone. Shouldn't you be explaining your teams numbers to us? If you think those are wrong, tell us how many scholarships will be available on signing day 2018. I was just enjoying sh*t posting about the Gators. Cuz ya know, rivalry. But since you clearly take issue, school me up.

Explain how the 2017 Florida roster is going to be better than the 2016 Florida roster. Because you have multiple fan bases puzzled as to how the Gators are going to do that.

No Chin Jim ain't Spurrier or Meyer....his luck of Tennessee giving him wins ran out last year...I'd say we string the next 5 victories in this series before Florida wins again.

Defense has been our weak link...if it comes together finally this year we have enough offensive firepower strung together to rule the East for a while.

You seriously believe you have more talent this year than a few years ago when you had 3 top 5 recruiting class all on campus?

The last of Muschamps top 5 recruiting classes just went to the draft. Your junior class was terrible and your sophomore class is only okay.

You guys are set up for a bad year. The talent will be clearly inferior to Georgia and Tennessee for the first time in a long time.
