You did not back in either year. Period.

If we beat you in 15, we win the East. I don't consider that winning by two games.

Not that it matters, but didn't want you having too much fun at our expense.

Remember in A Few Good Men..."I strenuously object". :)
Florida was 7-1. Tennessee was 5-3. That's a two game lead. Yes, if Tennessee had won the game they would have won the East. However, it's still a two game lead.

I'm sure you can gather this on your own, but unless we win 24 1/2 Natty's in a row, some of these people will still complain.

Are we counting championships like Bama does - Good Housekeeping, Reader's Digest, Alabama Farmers Almanac, etc

I consider a 7-1 conference record to be two games better than a 5-3 conference record.

But your head-to-head point is noted.

How many UF coaches won the Eastern division their first two years?

Spurrier? Yep.
Zook? Nope.
Meyer? Nope.
Musclecramps? Please.

You focus on the trees, I'll focus on the forest.

Spurrier actually didn't win his first two years at Florida because his 1st year they were on probation and there were no divisions. Although UT destroyed Florida 45-3 that year, Florida did finish 6-1 while UT finished 5-1-1, but officially UT were the SEC champions and beat Virginia in the Sugar Bowl. 1991 was the 1st year the SEC went to divisions when they added Arkansas and South Carolina which also led to the first SEC CHAMPIONSHIP game. Yes, a technicality, but a fact. Spurrier did go on and win 6 straight SEC East titles after that until UT broke thru and won in '97 and '98.

If you're going to correct someone please make sure you're right. Please fact check this whole post and get back to us. I know what you're thinking. And no, you're wrong.

Re-read it, RM. It wasn't his first 2 years, yes it is a technicality and I said that but he didn't. The eastern divisions first 2 years, yes, but not Spurrier's first 2 years. So maybe u should take your own advice.

The first year of division play was 1992. Spurrier won 5 straight division titles. Seriously. Just use google.

Quite honestly, I was being an AH to the Gator, but I'm right. It's called reading comprehension and apparently, I am better at it than u.

I said all that, u need to re-read my post. His first year was 1990 and there was no divisions and I lived it, I don't have to google it. Dale Carter ran back the 2nd half KO to blow open a 7-3 game. I said it was a technicality and I am right

The only thing I am wrong about is they went to 2 divisions in '92 instead of '91, which means I was even more right. Spurrier couldn't win the East in his first 2 years because it didn't exist.

No need to get all bent out of shape folks.

Perhaps I should have said Spurrier won the East the first two years of SEC divisional play.

Since then, McElwain is the only UF coach to win the East in consecutive years.

Yes, u are right and he would have won it in '90 and '91 if they existed and wasn't on probation in '90. I was just being messy and RM wanted to call me out on it. Sorry, it just rubbed me the wrong way. I haven't finished my coffee yet

There's an actual dog posting, apparently. And not a smart one.

Says the dog killer. I was right, u were wrong. Yes, it was a technicality, but apparently u have no reading comprehension, even LW admitted he phrased it wrong. Why can't u?

I think UT fans will look back years from now and shake their heads at how in the word UT went 1-5 against UF in the 4 years of Muschamp and first two years of Mac. Between the loaded offense this year and the recruiting catching fire at Florida, the window has closed and UF is about to go on another tear in the SEC.

Remember, Florida was the last team to reign in the SEC before this recent Bama domination and Florida will be the team to dethrone them. It's coming.

Can I document this post so that after UF's 7-5 season I can rub your face in this coming "tear" in the SEC UF will go on?

Florida's offense going from 116th in the NCAA last year to Jaw's "outstanding" this coming year. Yeah OK. Sounds like Nationdom's equally dumb prediction that Shoop's defense will be top 7.
