Four Former UT Football Staffers Receive NCAA Penalties for Recruiting Violations

The University should claim that Pruitt is a Bama fan and took the job to undermine our program. He's gone now, so go check out the 2 programs where he learned his bag money techniques. He's such a fan, he let himself get caught so he could ruin UT Football forever!
That's crazy enough to be true..😃

With our "self imposed" penalties, I had thought the NCAA would offer some mercy. Now, not so sure. Unless the thought is the coaching staff has yet to pay the price and the University has. We'll have to wait and see, but I'm really hoping any penalty happens sooner rather than later.

I think we forfeit our wins from the 2020 season and get a bowl ban this season.
Whatever the University gets, I think it is going to be a little more serious than we hope for. Unfortunately.
‘But, please, let’s get this behind us.

I’m sure little Nicky and Bama is pushing the NCAA hard to hit us with something significant in punishment and sanctions. Is there a bigger cry baby whiny bioch than Saban ?

Tennessee is going to put a beat down on the gumps next year. And I hope Heupel does not call off the dogs like Fulmer used to do.

If they come down hard Tennessee will take them to court. And they should. No bowl ban or any major Scholarship reductions should be accepted. We can win in court I believe, and I can’t see the NCAA wanting to go there. Hopefully things are being worked out.

Bamawriter was confident Pruitt would get only a year show cause and be able to return triumphantly to the Bama D Coord position next year. Not looking likely with these penalties.
If I were an Alabama fan I would be pretty embarrassed about a lot of stuff right now lol

I don’t understand all of the Fulmer hate. The man played for us, worked his way up the coaching ranks from OL coach to OC then HC and was personally responsible for those back to back SEC championships Majors had at the end of his tenure. Then, add in how under his tutelage we had that awesome run in the 90’s including our last and first NC in the past 50 years! If not for him, Tennessee football would not be at the level we now and have wanted it to be! Had Hamilton not fired him and just gave him a sabbatical, we would never have been at the depths we have since he was fired.
Now, I know I’m going to get flamed but when he was gracious enough to step in to help his university, he was in almost the same situation Hamilton was in when Kiffin left. We were in a dumpster fire and no one wanted within a 100 miles! Who else besides Pruitt would have taken the job?

What about Fulmer was not in the same league as Saban, Meyer, Spurrier, and Riech do you not get. The program was already a wreck when he left. If I had the talent Fulmer had I sure would not be bragging about winning 2 SEC championships in 17 years.

Bowl ban, vacating wins, scholarship and recruiting reductions, monetary fines, is what I just heard on Fox Sports Knoxville.
If the vacating wins part is true, please do that. Any reminder of those 3-4 years is one too many. This is the one case where I'd actually prefer that useless "penalty".

Aww, Paycheck Phil, don't worry. Those paychecks will still keep coming for the next year or so, and you get to keep your suite. Maybe there will be another opportunity to collect paychecks in the future.

I have no respect for the NCAA. I’m no Pruitt apologist. I hate the absolutely absurd inconsistency of the NCAA.

Fulmer was responsible for a portion of that dumpster fire that he stepped into. Leach or Tucker both would’ve taken the job. Fulmer was a great coach and a terrible AD. He backstabbed his way into both jobs.

Per a tweet from Chris Low, UT officials are optimistic that a negotiated settlement can still be reached with the NCAA and the university can avoid a Committee on Infractions hearing. I can't imagine that a negotiated settlement would include a bowl ban.

The NCAA acts like a government entity. They’ll be quick to take from you what they need but then drag their feet for eternity for whatever you needed. There’s no incentive and their recruiting code seems like the tax code...

Don't have the link now but NCAA stated back in Jan that their new investigative rules were to punish the coaches/individuals involved in the charges rather that punish the entire program and school. Guess we will see if they stick to that policy.
That's how it should be, and how it always should have been!

Nedermyer will get 5
Felton will get 4
Hughes who wasn’t ever here the year Covid restrictions were in force (at S. Carolina) will get 3+1(3 year show cause+1 year of of restrictions if he does come back to college) and the student assistant will either get 3 or nothing. I’m sure Pruitt could light us up with all the back channel stuff he knows concerning Fulmer. In fact we better be a little nicer to all these coaches that are getting these penalties. I’m sure they could start singing and really sink us.
