President and Vice President of college football. They run the show . Same thing every year. Ohio State should be number one and they have the front runner in that and the heisman trophy front runner every year and promote it all year espn does that’s how I see it. Fine Baum said espn took the heisman from Peyton so he hates Tennessee just saying my take.

I never condone a man putting his hands on a woman in an aggressive manner. But maybe I didn’t see the right video, because what I seen was a player reach his arm out and it moved the girls head. It didn’t look like a push or a punch. It looked like to me someone walked into someone else’s personal space. If what I seen happened to me or my wife I would have maybe told him to watch himself and continued partying. I dang sure wouldn’t have made a big deal out of it. I can’t stand bama and their misery makes me happier, but I think this is a mountain out of a molehill. Again, there could be another video that I haven’t seen

Fans rushing a football field are putting themselves at risk. Like jumping in the ring with a bull or running down a flight line at an airshow. Dont mind taking the risk, go for it, but, don’t complain when you get clobbered by the crowd or someone running for cover in a uniform.

Fans rushing the field who are injured due to accidents or unintentional interaction with others probably don't have much of a leg to stand on, IMO, since they made a choice to put themselves in that situation in the first place. You can't compare that to fans rushing the field who become the victims of intentional criminal acts by others. They're not fair game for anyone to assault them, as in this case.

I hope Tennessee players remember this in Bama. Smack every Bama fan within arms reach in the mouth. Tell them you were scared.
If it wasn't Bama the convo would be different.
Unfortunately BAMA won’t rush the field, they’re used to winning. We won the game , let’s move on and beat UK . Lets get used to winning again.

It is ESPN, they savor drama. If they are not getting under your skin than they are likely not doing their job. They want the clicks/attention.

You are correct that if a fan enters the field of battle and gets knocked to the ground by a 250 lb athlete in peak condition it's the outcome of the risk they took.

If however a player raises a hand and hits a lady on that field, the coach should take action, the players momma WILL take action, and the game announcers should stick to football.

It is absolutely mind boggling to me that Saban would play the football player in question for the assault after the game.

My head is spinning that the mentioned broadcast team chose to bring the issue up and offer opinions or any information regarding the situation in Knoxville.

It makes it appear that they were asked or told by someone at Alabama to speak on the issue and water it down and basically blame the victim.

I will say that based on video evidence the female fan was not shoved as mentioned in the broadcast last night. Shoving isn't condoned either, but it was certainly an attempt to make the action seem less aggressive than a punch or slap.

I'm not suggesting they should have stayed silent about this issue, but to chose to speak on it and make excuses for and defending the action is just literally despicable.

This is a situation that may very well just be beginning as far as the victim seeking legal advice and who knows, there may be some type of investigation going on.

Imagine these broadcasters reaction if the player in question was a UT player and the fan involved was not a UT fan.
Had that been a hit on a QB it would’ve been a flag and possible ejection. UT fan? All good!

Bad take. He went out of his way to hit her. If he ran her over just trying to run off the field then I agree but not when he intentionally went out of his way to hit her.

I agree its time to move on from it, he should have been disciplined from Alabama but he's not going to be, its over, honestly its a bad vibe from something that was a really good vibe so put it in the rear view mirror and look to Kentucky. I think ESPN wants to dictate what is hot and what is not in football so they are trying to take some of our thunder because we are drawing attention for ourselves and they dont like not being the one controlling it.

I've said it before and will say it as many times as necessary, Herbie is king of the crying cuckholds! Fowler isn't even original enough to have his own identity... rather just wallows in lil herbies sniveling shadow.

I can't stand either one of these acolytes. They are examples of why my mute button on the remote are worn out. Crying Herbie is way above his pay grade.

She appeared to change direction to try to avoid him and, as she was going around him, he reached out and swiped at her, making contact with her head/face. It wasn't a loaded-up punch, but it didn't need to be. I would love to hear a reasonable explanation that excuses his actions, but so far it seems like some people just think she had it coming. Weird.

There is a difference between accidentally bumping into somebody and intentionally slapping/punching them in the face.

There's also a difference between a pissed-off bull and a pissed-off human being -- or at least there should be. Honestly, some of the lengths people are going to to excuse this are bewildering.

Again, I never condone any aggressive contact between a man and woman. His parents should whoop his ass and they should get their asses kicked for not raising him better. But it looks like a lazy “get out of here with that garbage” hand to the face kinda thing. He shouldn’t have done even that, but it doesn’t look like he was trying to inflict any pain or injury from the video I seen, just a hold up of an arm that says your coming into my space. I could be wrong, he may have been trying to hurt her, but the video doesn’t show that that I see

Really nothing new ESPN guys have always been somebodies bitches. They are particularly that way for the UConn women's basketball team and Geno. Guess Satin has them where he wants them as well.

No, rushing a football field is not at all comparable to jumping into a bull ring or entering a flight line. There's no inherent risk to life or limb on a football field. That's a ridiculous comparison.

Herb is a POS IMHO. That stunt where he cried because of his white privilege did it for me. I don't watch him anymore unless if he's involved in the play-by-play.... which I will mute and find an internet broadcast and delay the TV to match the audio. I don't watch Gameday any more, and instead watch Big Noon Kickoff.

Even when they blatantly lie? One of them literally stated it was a shove, insinuating that the fan aggressively approached the player. When, in reality, the fan ran around the player and was then struck by an open or closed hand in the face.
Fowler will always have something on the negative side about Tennessee whenever he has the chance. He has been a piece of junk for a long time.

He didn't just hold up an arm. And she was already out of "his" space when he adjusted his body to reach out and swipe at her before she could get too far away for him to be able to reach her. She did not initiate any physical contact with him, in fact she obviously made an effort to avoid that. But he was evidently irritated that she had gotten as close as she did. And he was probably irritated that she was so happy when he was feeling the opposite. And her reaction was consistent with someone who had been slapped. It was instantaneous and obvious. So I think the video shows more than some people seem to want to admit.

Until it became obvious last night that the sports media (read: ESPN) are going to carry Saban by watering this down until it disappears, I was opposed to any of this going the legal route. I figured even a character like Saban would have to do something approximating the right thing: suspend the kid a game or two, make him take anger management training, apologize to the young lady publicly, and let it fade away.

But now that Herbsreit and Fowler played the Saban tune, and Saban is so blatantly sweeping the whole thing under a rug, NOW I'm totally in favor of the young lady getting a lawyer (she probably already has one) and suing the guy's ass. Bring in the video from the other fan Burton hit, as well. Hell, make it a class action suit. Drop a ton of bricks on the jerk, and make Saban step back.

Saban doesn't want to take the reasonable course behind Door number 1? Okay, give him Door number 3, which he won't be able to ignore and where bought media types don't rule the conversation.

I honestly now hope she goes that route. And I usually hate lawyers.
