I don't know, Hannity was pretty willing to beat up on Bush/Rep over spending and border security. Still, I see the generic point of your comparison.

To me the biggest difference is that not for one second does Hannity try to convince you he is anything but a conservative. Olbermann is every bit as partisan as Hannity but likes to present his point of view as simply being the superior one, untainted by his politics.

If you're right or left (or whatever) and are straight about it I can deal with it. I simply detest Olbermann.

I know your being sarcastic but what do you think the reason for the surge in ratings is? Distrust of the main stream media, natural because the sitting president is democrat, what are the biggest factors IYO?

Distrust of mainstream media? Absolutely not.

Right is whipped up into a frenzy and take solace in watching news that reinforces what they already believe to be true. Pure and simple, its reassurance that they are right because they hear it coming out of that little box with the pictures on it.
