FRANKLIN AMERICAN MORTGAGE MUSIC CITY BOWL: NC State vs. Vanderbilt, 12pm ET, ESPN

You do realize Vandy's enrollment is like 6k? There's just not that many Vandy fans/alums out there. I wouldn't expect MTSU to sell out LP field and its 5x larger than Vandy.

Yes, and I also realize that it's the holidays and people are off work. You're telling me there aren't enough alum and sidewalk alumni that can get off work and come back in town during the holidays when everyone pretty much takes off and go see Vandy play in only its 6th bowl game ever? Vandy's campus sits in the largest city in the SEC and the game is 2 miles away from its campus. Sorry, that's pathetic. Hell, they only had a handful of fans against MTSU last week in a hoops game just 2 miles down the road from its campus and MTSU easily outnumbered them 10-1.

Maybe it's their aloofness and generally arrogant attitude for no good reason that rubs people the wrong way.

My personal favorite from the first half was Franklin absolutely lighting into his tailback for throwing a bad ball on that halfback pass play. Yes, it was a poorly thrown ball, but when you have your tailback throwing in 30 degree weather with receiver gloves on what do you expect?

I'm waiting for the day when he loses it and hits someone like Woody Hayes.

NC State now with 5 turnovers. Glennon is horrible.

James Franklin just ripped a kid on the INT return for a guy running into him.

Glennon isn't doing himself any favors today.

Ran into his own man....i guess here is where we can say, that's why they're Vandy, because they are doing everything else right :/

NC State still can't figure out the wildcat. I'd make them beat me throwing it with a halfback pass. NC State looks disinterested right now. That's what can happen when you fire your head coach and expected a better bowl than the Music City bowl.

NC State has turned the ball over 5 times and is down 31-14. They're lucky it's not worse, but it will get worse. They're moving the ball, but keep handing the ball back to Vandy after moving the ball between the 20's.

If UT had any defense at all, they should've beat that team 48-10 or thereabouts.

You have to understand the Vanderbilt student body and alumni. Half of them probably don't even know there are sports teams.

it's gonna be really fun to rush for 300+ yards on Vandy next year.

Oh, I know. I went to school back when they were still taking in more local students. I had a few friends that went there. I also knew a few football players that got scholarships that were C students at best. I always had to laugh when people talked about how all the football players were 4.0 students. No, they took in some very average students to play football and still do.

Now they're trying to become more of a "national university" so a lot of those same local students aren't making it in even if they have the grades. They'll pick someone else because of their nationality more than anything.

LMFAO at the guy wearing the back-to-back bowl button. My God. The Candy fans will think they've won the national title after winning this bowl game.

Well the two leading states for enrollment at Vandy are NY and TX, TN is barely top 5. Assuming kids return to those states after college it's a long ways for a bowl game in the city you spent 4 years. The underlying problem is their fanbase is a bunch of nerds who are there for school and school only, they just don't care about sports.

I was at the Vandy-WKU game at Bridgestone a few years ago and it was the same way. Western had 7-10k fans there and Vandy had 500 or so.

Ignorant arrogant decision by Franklin there. That's the kind of decision that gets coaches fired at real football schools!
