Well the two leading states for enrollment at Vandy are NY and TX, TN is barely top 5. Assuming kids return to those states after college it's a long ways for a bowl game in the city you spent 4 years. The underlying problem is their fanbase is a bunch of nerds who are there for school and school only, they just don't care about sports.
I was at the Vandy-WKU game at Bridgestone a few years ago and it was the same way. Western had 7-10k fans there and Vandy had 500 or so.
Agreed. Bruce Pearl all over
I realize that. I also realize that Nashville is the largest SEC city. The sidewalk alumni should've been able to fill that stadium along with the alumni following their team. Their stadium seats roughly 40,000. The other team usually has close to half of that 40,000. However, Vandy fans are jumping on the bandwagon. They can't jump off the hoops bandwagon quick enough and try to act like they're a football school now when we've been told for decades that they're a hoops school.
And I was at that UT-MTSU and Vandy-Western Ky double header too. Vandy's campus was closer than any of the other four schools yet they were the least represented. They can fill up Memorial with roughly 14,000 fans, yet they can only bring 500 fans 2 miles down the road? As I said, pathetic.
I think you mean Athens. UGA is in Athens, GA. Ga Tech, an ACC school, is in Atlanta.
Mizzou is in Columbia, MO. About 2 hours West of St. Louis.
I know the geography. The point was the SEC pretty much owns that city (between the bulldogs and all the SEC championships and other conference events held there) despite Tech's presence and the closest school - the state school - being an hour or so away....it's far from an ACC town
LOL...what happened to all that "SEC pride" humm? where are all the SEC SEC SEC chanting douchbags? hmmm?
you guys are fricken sad...it's ok to "pull for BAMA IN A BOWL GAME" but yet you crap all over something a cool as Vandy winning a bowl game....again.
