Can you imagine the conversation inside the family of the assistant that was interviewed for a Vandy opening, but wasn't selected for the job?

IMO it was meant as a tongue in cheek means of assessing an assistants confidence in recruiting. I've got no problem with it and I'm sure his assistants probably don't either. Folks are way too sensitive.

Doesn't matter to me what he says, offensive or not. Or whether he apologizes for it. Unless it hurts the @$$ in recruiting, then I'm all for it.

I didn't listen so maybe his tone would make it sound like a joke. But, "There's a very strong correlation between having the confidence, going up and talking to a woman, and being quick on your feet and having some personality and confidence and being fun and articulate, than it is walking into a high school and recruiting a kid and selling him" doesn't sound like a joke.

i cant stand the SOB but really think too much was made of it.
lets face it having pals with hot wives is always a plus.

credit to the vice chancellor he was on the show yesterday and they tried to get him to goof around with that one liner and he was very honest on how aggravated he was at CJF.

I love how they always say just because ne said it, he doesn't really feel that way. Of course he feels that way, stupid thing to say.

This post should go somewhere in a VN Hall of Fame. Not especially witty or funny but freaking dead on!

Maybe he is planning on the assistants taking their wives on recruiting trips.....wait, didn't Spliffin get in trouble using coeds for that?

What I thought was entertaining about the article is the link to the coaches and families page. I wanted to see what type of "Wives" were required to get a job at Vandy. If you want a good laugh go look at some of these assistants' wives. I don't really think any of them would garner a second look... James Franklin's taste is as overrated as his coaching if you ask me...

Yeah, until you tell your buddies that's why you chose to hang out with them. Then for some reason you stop getting asked to barbeques.
