You could actually trace Woodrow Wilson to a fringe of the Neoconservative movement. At least Fukuyama tries to put forward that idea in some of his publications. I don't buy the argument. Particularly with the frequency for unilateralism and reluctance for international organizations and connectivity. Neoconservatives would despise FDR because of his reluctance to enter the war. It was in essence, our duty to protect freedom around the world as one would see it in the modern eye of Wolfowitz/Bill Kristol neoconservatism. I tend to like the idea of gradual modernity (Westernized democracy) of the world.
