Franklin to Penn State

yeah, I'm a chicken **** because I despise Vandy and wish they were deep in a hole rather than at their peak and know JF is responsible.
You pegged me.

So it is good to beat an up Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Bama, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn, Texas A&M, or Mizzou......but having a good Vandy with Franklin as HC and beating them would not be good....rather have them suck still and beat them so it means nothing with him not there? Not very Spartan like.

Never thought I see the day that 75 percent of VOL fans were scared of vandy, well there coach I wanted the SOB to stay where we could kick his azz like he did our last year 41-13, now we don't get to pay the fffffffffffffffffffffffer back.:banghead2:
41-18 wasn't it? Don't sell the 2012 Bray offensive juggernaut short.

Look tough typing guy that will fight anyone at anytime from a keyboard like a legit badass, I live in the middle of this junk. I'm on Vandy's campus twice a week. I don't like JF. I don't like people that cover up for rapists. I don't like Vandy. I don't care if they ever win another game, and I absolutely don't want them to keep winning and going to bowls.
If you want him to stay so badly Clay T, I don't care.

I'm on Vandy's campus 3 times a week. People wanting him to stay just so UT can beat him are asinine.

I think in Webster's Dictionary for the definition of Quitter(s) it says see also 2011 Tennessee Vols vs. Kentucky Wildcats Football, 2012 Tennessee Vols vs. Vanderbilt Commodores Football, Lane Kiffin, and Derek Dooley.

It makes us look like a few have common sense. Anybody here that wouldn't be relieved? Doesn't mean you are scared. Means you live in reality and prefer him gone and Vandy to fall from their peak.

Really? You give him to much credit, Sparty. Stay/go, I don't really give a flying flipflop. I don't find him to be an intimidating coach. So if he leaves, I'm not going to be relieved, I'm just going to be "meh, who cares?". I stick by my arguement from another thread, James Franklin walked into a perfect storm. Nothing more, nothing less. He's not a bad coach, but I don't see him as a great coach either. He's somewhere in the middle.

I don't like him or anything he stands for. Don't care what situation he supposedly fell in or any of the other excuses people use to act like Vandy was the same old Vandy under him.
Nothing intimidating about him. You guys confuse scared with despising somebody. If we can't beat a Vandy team in the next few years, regardless of the coach, we are screwed anyway.

Being scared of challenges just isn't in my DNA guy....sorry if it is in yours. Being scared of team or a coach is stupid...just stupid. Having a reason to enjoy the spoil of victory is a good thing. Just like beating a Spurrier coached team. Wanting a team to suck or lose is one thing. Wanting to beat every team regardless of the head coach is another. Beating Vandy in 2011 with him as the HC brought meaning back to beating the Nashville Nobody's IMHO. I don't care if he is there or gone...but beat them back into that hole...regardless who the HC is.

And yeah I am pretty bad ass.

Last statement is all that really matters.

I agree.

Franklin is making 3 - 3.5 million per year at Vandy, correct?
I think you are correct. New facilities a good coach Vandy can compete. IMO Nashville is the best city of any SEC school.

Franklin is a decent coach but the upswing Vandy is on has more to do with the SEC East being a dumpster fire at the moment than a miraculous turnaround by a superman. This Vanderbilt couldn't stay in the building with a traditional Tennessee or Florida team. They are topped out no matter who they hire or what they build. Let him stay out there and average 7-8 wins a year at best. I for one don't care. Tennessee will never fear that guy.

Whotf is scared of JF? Maybe if you understood the debate you could follow easier. Or, maybe it's easier to argue over whatever point is on your agenda, guy. Seen a lot of that lately on this site. When there is nothing to debate, by all means, make some **** up.
Would you be upset if Saban or Gus left? Freeze? I'm sure you'd be happy because it would be easier to beat those teams without them, which is the exact opposite of the stance you are taking here.

You should get into bjj or mma. Events all the time. One in feb. Maybe test out your badassness.

I truly believe if Vandy faces the Florida and Georgia teams we played.....not dismantled with injuries...they don't beat them...no way.

Time will tell. Weezer I respect your opinion. You are a good poster.

Strong has done nothing to impress me except for signing a very good qb, Bridgewater. I was so thankful last year when he turned us down. Louisvile played in a weak conference and without Bridgwater what kind or record would he have? I think he fails terribly in TX.

Franklin on the other hand took over a bad program and has completely turned Vandy around. They have improved every year playing in the toughest conference in the NCAA. He has proven he can recruit, coach and win with less talent. If he takes the PSU job I think he will be a player for the championship by year 2.

That is just an old man's opinion. I have been wrong a time or two.

I just saw where Petrino has hired Kevin Steele as his DC.

If being the DC for two NC teams doesn't impress you, then you're a hard man to impress. Sure, Tebow was the star of those teams, but Strong's defense was key as well.

As for Franklin's record this year in the SEC, he was 4-4. Let's look at who he beat. Obviously, there's us, but was that really a big victory? Others may hate to admit it, but we sucked this year. Stats will back that up. Then there's KY. Hardly a quality win. That leaves UGA and UF, both of which were friggin' MASH units this year. He faced neither team when they were close to 100%. Hell, the gators lost to GA Southern 2 games later. So I just can't view this year as an indicator of James Franklin's coaching success. Yes he can recruit, and yes, I think he's a good coach(again, good, not great), but this year was a wash.

Strong's resume is much better IMO.

Paint a clearer picture for me. You want him gone from Vandy, or you just want his ass out of your city?

If JF leaves and CBJ gets us winning again, Vandy will always play the "if JF hadn't left" card. If he stays and CBJ gets us winning again, they have to live with the fact it's because they suck. Wouldn't that be sweeter?

did you just switch sides of the debate?

Gobs gonna gobble.

I'm starting to realize I should keep reading before responding to every post I come across.

But that's probably not gonna change.

Stay, go, I do not care. The Vols should always beat Vandy. We lost this year because our true freshman qb crapped his pants and couldn't throw the ball in the ocean from a boat.
Respect for JF is different than fear of him. He has done about as well as you can do at Vandy. He's topped out and we are still climbing out of the valley.

To get back to this whole conversation I started with you....read the post I first responded to. It certainly did not sound like something a Volunteer would say. If you don't know what a Volunteer means or stands for then you should look it up and remind yourself.

Next I never said anything about fighting anyone. I said this football program has a history of facing anyone, anywhere, & anytime. The fans used to take pride in that regardless of the outcome. And I want to beat any other school every time we face them. I hope Saban, Les, Gus, and so on are still the HC's too because that means we are back where we belong.

Actually been in Jits for years.....trained with Rey Diogo, Carlson Gracie Jr., Evaldo Lima, Royce Gracie, Rener and Ryron Gracie, and Master Caique Elias......to name a few in my long time in Los Angeles.

Who cares what that group of 5 or 6 people think.
