Is he just incapable of pulling the trigger or does he get off on making Vandy fans squirm? Dude needs to say something publicly today and end the speculation.

I think the trigger was pulled weeks ago. They had to finalize details and then have to wait for the PSU board to approve it, which is scheduled for Saturday morning. Because Franklin reportedly has a buyout around $10M he needs PSU to pay it before he can leave, because they are going to demand he pay it before taking another job. In our case when Kiffin left his buyout was pretty low and he could afford to do it himself if we had made him do it before he left so he didn't wait.

Wow heck of a buyout. Thanks for the info. He seems gone to me but also letting Vandy dangle in the wind.

I don't know if he can until the knights of the round table at PSU meet on Saturday to approve the contract. I find this puzzling from a PSU perspective. If they really want this jackass, why THEY pull the trigger. To me, it's pretty clear that Franklin is trying to get out of Nashville while the gettin' is good.

Wonder if PSU is able to speak with rape investigators or if they have to take JF's word that for probably one of the few times ever, a concerned or worried player didn't go to a coach for guidance.

That may actually make sense. Maybe that is why the meeting isnt going to take place until Saturday. The way I figure, if you want a coach, I would think you are going to get it done as quick as you can.

Calling blue belts baby blue is a joke. I had one and was proud of it. Was called it all the time...never was an insult to me....but maybe your more sensitive. When sparring and training it is meant to be playful and friendly...while competitive to not cause injuries to your partner....as well as educational with all belt levels. Anytime and anyplace was referring to Tennessee Football...not coming to Nashville to fight you or anyone else.

You made a comment that sounded like Tennessee Football should hope Franklin leaves for the sake of beating them again. At least that is the way I took it...and that sounded like the program should now be scared of him....again that is how I took it.

You told me I should train mma or bjj....trying to mock me as an internet tough guy...then the fact I have and start telling you the folks I've been blessed to roll with...and hitting you with that knowledge...now I'm a liar. Los Angeles is BJJ Heaven. Just because your stuck in Nashville doesn't mean other people in the world know about BJJ. And the fact you went there with me and I do...don't discredit it. Sorry to derail this thread that's full of karate choppin' and all around badassery, but a Vandy mod on 247 just dropped a nuke.

Already past midnight so gonna start this new thread for the day upcoming.
I have been on the phone and internet all night long trying to gather as much information about what's going on as I can. I don't want to be the guy that brings bad news or negative talk but I felt like I needed to bring our followers the information I have been told. Here it is...
- I have talked with multiple reliable sources here in our area and I feel confident enough now to officially say James Franklin will be the next head coach at Penn St.
- I have heard that Franklin has been booked to Penn St since earlier this week. I was told Franklin has calculated this whole time frame and almost purposely dragged this thing out. Now I truly don't know if that's what his intentions were but that's how it played out.
- I was told Penn St has been his job all along and has been working behind the scenes calculating even his assistants to carry out particular tasks. If you remember earlier this week John Donovan and Bob Shoop began to follow Penn St recruits and I was told that was done on purpose and not done in favor for recruiting them to Vanderbilt.
- I don't want to go too far with this but I was also told the assistants coaches very well know what it going on, maybe not all of them but some and have purposely said they have no idea so they could begin working behind closed doors for Penn St.
- I was also told that Charles Bankins has been actively contacting current Penn St players and telling them he is excited about coaching them in Happy Valley. If you go look at who Bankins is following now current PSU TE Adam Brenneman will be found.
- I have also been talking with some current Vandy players tonight and believe or not what all I just told you is exactly what they are starting to hear as well. Some players are starting to get real disgusted with this whole situation. They are still strong together as a team but feel lied to and misguided by Coach Franklin. The feeling is beginning to be that Franklin has wanted to get out of Vandy all along but was just waiting for that next great opportunity to leave.
Now I know all this is probably a lot to see but like I said I felt like I needed to bring this info here from some trusted sources of mine so maybe the VU247 followers could get a better feel for whats goin on and maybe begin to look towards a new coach!

Hope he isn't. Love better competition...love having another bad guy like Spurrier to look forward to beating...makes it sweeter and more fun beating the bad guy. This guy has brought back the feeling of the Florida games in the 90's and late 2000's.
