Frats are the lifeblood of UT, Who is best?

If you go to school out of state IMO there is no better way for you to meet people in a hurry and start enjoying college than go greek. It is what it is. Best decision I've made at UT though, and im from Nashville.

Coming from Clarksville, which is basically out of state, as I only know of 3 other people from my high school that went, I would have to disagree. Freshman year, everyone is trying to make new friends, so it's pretty easy to meet people. I've been hanging out with the same group of friends since about a month into my freshman year.

That being said, my girlfriend did have trouble meeting new people in college until she joined a sorority. I guess it really depends on luck, timing, and what your personality is like.

There was never a DU at UT. DTD and KA both got kicked off for a long time and came back.

DTD was the one that had a hard on for me and my buddy. Those dudes were not cool. House should have been condemned too.

I was in a frat at UT. I actually saved money by being in the frat. Cost less for dues, to live in the frathouse and eat at the frat mealplan than it did to live in a dorm and do the UT meal plan.

Plus large quantities of alcohol and sororities were included in the dues.

Worked well for me. Not for everyone. Frats are a minority at UT, not lifeblood at all.

Whose pledges got staph infections a couple years ago? Did they get kicked off campus?

I joined a frat the second semester of my freshman year at UT, and I learned they are a waste of time and money. I was initiated and stayed in for about 2 years, held several "executive" positions, but found out it's not conducive to having friends outside your frat. So if your buddy wants to only hang out with the same group of people all four years have at it. As far as the girls go, they don't call them sorostitutes for nothing, they get passed from frat to frat like a virus. The best people, and girls, that I met while in college were those who weren't in my frat. I probably keep in touch with five of my old frat brothers and >25 other friends outside the frat. When a friendship is based off of money and hazing, it can't be good. TIFWIW...

Must have been very serious then because no one currently at UT knew they were ever here.

Yeah that's weird. Must have been awhile ago. Reasoning is usually campus gossip and chatter so naturally I can't find why they went inactive.

the one across the street from presidential courtyard... I think they disbanded, and I forgot their name, but they were horrible. On walk throughs they had two sluts making out with each other on a sofa. ugly ones at that. it was pathetic.

I wasn't aware we had a chapter at UT before... I'm DU alum.

It was a love hate relationship with the school. We were off row, on Terrace Ave where there is now a convenient parking garage.

Something with a Beta in it, I think.

Their house got condemned or something, they're not on campus anymore. Pretty sure it's on Lake Ave. now.

their house faced presidential courtyard.

there was another one down the street towards hess was next to the religious buildings... it was bad too, but at least they didn't do bull**** like that. they had a brother who was like 500lbs that would just sit on their porch all day. sometimes they'd load him up and drive around campus in the bed of the truck. hahaha
